I was in at the local Shoppers Drug Mart that has a post office in it. They carried the correct size.

That's where I checked as well.

Oh well. I think it's been established that the one that says 'Pack 390 x 295 mm' on the back will suffice! *crosses fingers*

Sean called. He just bought the letter size. He said it was the biggest they had.

So I told him to return it and go shop around!

Slacker!

And we are STILL waiting for his police report (which is due tomorrow).

I might have a heart attack.

I told him to do the police check back in June and even sent him money for it.

AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I wonder if they didn't have it in stock or if they didn't know any better?

I would guess the second one. Post office employees can be... challenging to work with sometimes. I just went in there with the required dimensions wrote down on a little piece of paper and told them that's what I needed. That way they can't be to confused!

Arabella... don't you want to kick him sometimes? I know you love him but he's not making this process very easy on you!

From my experience, the post office person in my Shoppers was... challenging. I came to the counter and said, I need the biggest xpresspost envelope that costs 15 dollars with signature. Of course there is only one "biggest xpresspost envelope that cost 15 dollars with signature" right? The woman was all, "well where do you plan to ship it?". I looked at her and repeated, "I need the biggest expresspost envelope that costs 15 dollars with signature". Needless to say, when she realized I did not give a ratsass with what her "recommendations" were, she got me the envelope...

You just have to show them who is the boss! :P

Finally married... and still married... ;)

They took mine which was 390 x 295. Make sure it's BIG b/c they had a sample stapled to the wall for comparing sizes. So as long as it's not the dinky little one, your good.

My experience with postal workers has been bad - always. The majority of them are complete idiots.

Keep in mind that a lot of the retail postal outlets in Canada are actually franchises and the people working there are not really postal workers, just regular part time employees.

I worked at a postal outlet for almost 2 years when I was in highschool and no one I worked with was a complete idiot. It's not an easy job, the majority of the people that came in either a. thought they were getting ripped off b. thought that we making up prices for things and it was too expensive or c. tried to get around the rules (no photo id for a pick up etc.). I took a lot of verbal abuse from customers when I worked there.

I can see why a lot of the workers don't really know what the biggest size of Xpresspost is. It was never a big seller when I worked there. We rarely sold those prepaid envelopes and when we did it was being filled right then and there.

Oh, I do know that, and regardless of what I think of them, I'm going to treat them with respect. I just think/believe that even if it is franchise that the training should be the same no matter what.

Nope, he got the 318 x 241 so that won't work. I told him to take it back and get the right size so hopefully he's done that!

I agree, Canada Post could do a better job with training the franchises.... but like any part-time employer, it's hard to retain and train employees. The best time to go to a Post Office is during the day when the full time day staff is working. They are the most knowledgable in my experience.
