I actually feel pretty sorry for your husband and I can understand his reluctance to do anything to speed up this process. Lighten up or be divorced within a year. Jeesh. Snail mail will only cost you about two days so I don't see it as a big deal. Mail goes coast to coast pretty fast here. No way it will take a week.

Hey becca - it's OK to vent. I'm in the same boat and feel the same way you do. We haven't gotten an RFE yet but if we get on on the I-864 (the only form he's completed that I haven't had a chance to check over, I'll scream bloody murder. ) The others I've been able to check and find errors and omissions.

If we get thru this I'm sure we'll make it. I think we females think of the worst that can happen and have a plan in place in case it does.

Good luck

Becca, don't worry USPS is pretty good (in our experience). My husband experimented on the different services of USPS. Granted he was sending letters and packages to me... things were delivered at a reasonable time for the most part.

Most of the time, we used regular mail (both from the US and on my side, Canada Post). I only used Fedex once (for the DS-230), and I managed to make a mistake and got an RFE anyway (which set us back by 3 weeks-- silly me).

Can't wait for Shon's response to the OP.

That being said....like other's stated...it most likely will arive at it's destination with in 2 if not 3 business days tops...the USPS is pretty good. It's all just part of the WONDERFUL "Waiting Game" of US Immigration.

As to the 2nd RFE...I've read of a few people on here that have gotten 2 RFE's for the IMBRA questions.

To the OP: I hear ya... my hubby also never did any research about this whole immigration process, he just relied on my info and our lawyer (when we did K3). His excuse was that he was always tired, he worked hard all week, etc etc, so I can understand how you feel. I think men sometimes just do things differently than we women do, they take things not as seriously, so sometimes this can come across as "lack of caring". My advice will be try to relax and not to worry too much... (F)

Oh, and like everyone else here has said, USPS is not really that bad, takes usually 3-5 days for regular mail.

Becca, I understand completely how frustrated this makes you, however, as most said here the snail mail wont hold it up too much, I sent ours regular post and havent heard any updates and then got a second RFE, I rang USCIS and they told me to send the second one back anyways else it may look like we abandoned the petition. They did recieve our first RFE but have still yet to update it, but the officer on the phone did confirm reciept even tho its not updated, so if you have any doubts , try to ring them. Its a long hard journey, I myslef have trouble being patient. Good luck and a speedy journey to you hon. HUGS

Well my husband who is the USC received the RFE about a week ago and mailed it back to them by normal take your bloody mail!! I was so mad at him for this doesnt he understand thats another week we are going to apart?? I feel like I am not his priority .. there are so many USc on here that are doing everything in their power to get other halves with them in the USa ASAP!! My husband hasnt even bothered to look at the NVC flow chart I sent him and is just relying on me to tell him what to do. He also said on the phone last night that its expensive to mail priority/overnight.. that makes me feel like I am not important enough for him to fork out a mear $15.. ok so he is not working but volunteering for the blinking park service ( which I was not ahppy about in the first place) and now hes complaining we dont have alot of money... HELLO You bloody decided you wanted to volunteer not me!! Its his fault not mine.

I just feel totally let down by him.. all I want him to do is get the forms back the quickest possible way.. is that too much to ask??

Also he said he has got another copy of the same RFE.. has this happned to anyone else? Evidently the USCIS have not as yet recieved the RFE he sent out on friday!!

Thanks for letting me vent some of my anger.. sorry!! :crying::ranting:

PS my work too away my internet today so I am forced to use the public library on my dinner hour! I should have stayed in bed today!

Hey becca,

I have those days as well. Sometimes it is just not worth to just get out of bed.

My hubby did the same thing with the RFE. It took him over a week to send it off, although the letter carrier takes it out of our letter box right in front of the house. But it is not because Im not worth it...it is just...that he is busy all day and then he forgets. Im sure your hubby feels the same way about it. My hubby also sent it regular mail. No priority or so. We already sent documents between countries for over $140...and that is just a huge amount of money. One delivery from USA to GERMANY costs (within 2 days) $44. It is just insane. And since nothing is moving along with the K3's anyway...dont worry so much.

But I understand that you are mad. I was mad as well :P. But I was mad because it costs so much.

Take care

Isabel

oh and in addition he doesnt read anything I send him regarding immigration stuff at all. Since I take care of it he doesnt see the need. Well....what to say.

how exactly do you inderstand hi reluctance?? You dont even know me.. thats not a very nice thing to say! And if you must know it does take over a week for us as the form is sent to his address in Wisconsin but he is out in california right now working so 3-5 days twice = a week!

Its important to me to get it done ASAP so we can be together ASAP... not sure where you are coming from at all...

Thanks to you all for your kind words.. I normally dont go off on one like that but I just feel so sad right now. I guess us woman have are own ideas of how things should go! I'm not worried that the USPS will lose the letter or anything.. its just the whole time factor thing.. and he had broken a promist he made. thats what upset me the most.

Anyway, I feel abit better about it all.. I will tell him to just mail out the second RFE too just in case thanks for the advice!!

Take care and hope everyone else has a speedy process too!!

Thanks again. and sorry for the big bad vent!

Well...On one side i understand your frustation as i get these episodes too but on the other hand Bashing your husband in such a ruthless way in public for such a pitty thing is just completely insane and un-called for. I dont care what women think or want. No women can justify by saying " O we are women and we think this or that way? You got to be more rational and dont jump to conclusion like you did if you really wanna spend your life with the same person. I don't know your particular circumstances with your husband but your posting was a little too much and you went too far. It did not give a good taste to most readers regardless if they say it or not !

Hope everything is fine and your case is processsed speedy and praying for your happy union.

:hehe: I sent my RFE by snail mail on Friday also. It arrived on Monday at 11:43am. 4 days have gone bye and they have not touched my file or informed me that they received the RFE. should I be worried? should I freak out? Nah...I'll pass. Oh...and my wife will do nothing; not even read this site. When the time comes that it is her responsiblity to act and she doesn't know what to do....hmmmm....Well, I guess I'll help her because I love her; and I know she loves me. I try not to view us as being apart now and together later. We are together now in our hearts. I'm not going to make our time "together" more stressful bye being mad at the person I care the most about.
