Different case status by phone or email

I have received an email by NVC saying that they have already received our case Jul 17. They gave us a case number as well and some other information...

Now I have called them and they say our case is not yet in their system.

Though, what shall I think about that? Im a little bit confused...

Did anybody make the same experience?

Do you know what is correct?

I call the automated system and it still tells me I am not in thier system.

But spoke to 2 live people yesterday who assured me it is on its way to Moscow.

Just called again automated - no record

Live person - off to Moscow!!

How did you get a live person on the phone? I would like to talk to somebody, too....

for K-1 and K-3 you have to call and get a live operator to get the status of your case.

I think, I know what happened. NVC email to you simply meant that NVC received the "case" (the approved petition) from USCIS. Within 1-2 week after NVC receives an approved petition from USCIS, NVC assigns a case number, which starts with three letters followed by 10-digit numbers.

Congratulations! Yes, you have a case number, but the automated system may not have been updated yet. If you want to be double confirmed, please call NVC at (603) 334-0700, then option 1 for English, then option 5 to speak with an operator live. Keep trying few times, if you can not get through the first time. I am sure, the operator will tell you the same thing as NVC email to you did.
