Question - since he's got the visa to the US, my fiance shouldn't have any problems with stops in Dubai or Europe, right? He wouldn't be leaving the airport so i'm figuring being in transit would waive any need for additional visas.

Naseer went through Heathrow with no problems. He did not have to change Terminals, only walked about 4 gates down.

as far as he does not leave airport, he will not need any visa.

PIA stops for just 4 hours at Manchestur airport and they dont let their passenegers move beyond a gallery/specific area.

You are right. Did you draft a suitable route for him? Which airline you want him to fly with? Where you located in U.S?

Omid,

If he stays in the airport he will be fine. Ishteaq went thru Dubai, London Heathrow, and then on to Atlanta. He did not have any problems and did enjoy his layover in Dubai. He surprised me with a beautiful ring when he killed his time shopping.

Fooki,

As far as getting an interview date moved up it is almost impossible. I wrote and my senator and Islamabad wrote back and said that they were all booked solid and we had to wait our turn. Ours was for a CR1 and the embassy would not budge. Our case was at embassy in July and our interview date was for December as well.

Field Investigations I can tell you our experience if you contact me or I see you online.

Mary

It'll likely be Kabul - Dubai - somewhere in Europe - LAX or Islamabad - London - LAX --- something along those lines.

There shouldn't be a problem if I do an eticket for him from there to here assuming I get a better deal than the travel agent in Kabul, right?

The international ticket you buy from the city of departure always cheaper as compare to buy international from somewhere else. It is recommended to buy ticket from Kabul or Islamabad.

I agree!

it has to do with taxes, landing and departure fees. plus its twice or tripple the money

to buy a ticket from international to USA. its to prevent people from doing that.

 Shon - I wrote LAX or Islamabad, LAX being the last stop of the first string, and then Isl being the first leg of the next string, not LAX "to" Isl. I have NO intentions of sending him back - not if he behaves himself anyway ;)

i've been seeing some ridiculous quotes - up in the several thousands - forget that - i'll just let them book the ticket there.

Omid.

I took the LAX to be a Key error

you know there are other airline codes if you were to change the "x" to another charactor it will reveal another city. hince me saying careful with the airline codes.

maybe if you said ISL -LAX I would have understood.

there is also LHE - ISL too. I was also taking it to mean this route. which is also backwards.
