Even BETTER New Years Plans :)

So I was originally going to hit up Chicago for a few days with my wife and some friends but everything is INSANELY expensive this year (tickets to the hotel parties are about $110-$150 PER person) so my wife and I started looking up different stuff last night. Turns out my Colorado Avalanche will be playing Detroit on New Years Eve I'm thinking we'll get some nice lower bowl seats, maybe even behind the bench as I imagine most don't wanna go see a hockey game on the biggest party night of the year. The game will only go til about 10pm at the latest so I could then hit up a nice house party or have one myself. I'm super stoked about going as I've only seen the Avs once and that was a pre-season game a few years ago, but Wolski did score the winner in a shootout. This could be muuuuch cheaper and let's face it, a pro hockey game and a party afterwards is quite possibly the greatest way to rock out a holiday

Awesome!! Bill and I were just talking about how cool it would be to go see an Avs game on new years eve, but as you discovered, they're going to be in Detroit! Should be a great game too. The Wings/Avs game we went to see a couple weeks back was probably one of the best games I've ever watched live. We try to see 2-3 games a year, but we normally don't splurge for the lower bowl seats, although its much nicer sitting down there. The seats are bigger and there's more room to stretch!
