If you go here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=ASC and put in your zip it'll bring up your local office and should have the hours. Our local Philly office has their hours on there...but they aren't open on Saturday :(

Rebecca - thank you so much for posting that link... Now I know the hours for mine - 8-3 Mon-Fri. It also says appointments only... i wonder if it says that for all offices?... Or if they would accept a walk in?

Though i'm getting ahead of myself since they haven't cashed our checks yet lol!

No, I can tell you that not all the biometrics offices are open on Saturday. For example, the one in Hartford, CT is not.

Thanks for the kind replies!

BTW, I've tried hard to find whether ASC in St.Louis(MO) is open on Saturday but no luck. Is there anyone tried walk-in Biometrics at St.Louis on Saturday?

I see from reading the forums that many people attempt early "walk-ins" to take care of their biometric requirements, as opposed to just waiting for the appointment date. What is the purpose in this? Is their some benefit to the biometrics being accomplished prior to the appointed time? The logical side of my brain tells me that any deviation from the prescribed appointment times given by USCIS, could potentially gum up the works more then it could potentially speed things up. What am I missing here?

I received my biometrics schedule also today, eventually I and my husband went to the ASC in St. Paul, Minnesota just to change the schedule because my husband is not available on Dec 10 and I only have my permanent in driving so I need my husband to drop me there. They are the one who offered us to have the biometrics today because only one was there. They were very accommodating and they were all kind. After my biometrics there were around 7 came for there biometrics, I am so lucky today.

Hey!

I did my biometrics walk-in early because my visa expired on October 25, which meant that i have not been able to work until today when my EAD arrived (woohoo!) so i just wanted to speed up the arrival of that document - mostly because i felt bad telling my employer that i wouldn't be working for an undetermined amount of time. It turned out to be just under a month, i don't know how long it would have been if i'd waited for my appointment. I did get reprimanded but hey they did it anyway so :P

I am in a similar situation. My working visa is about to expire on March 11, 2010. I received the letter for the biometric appointment for next week but am thinking of trying an early walk-in this Friday. I hope it goes smoothly as others have experienced!!! Are there anyone out here with experience with Brooklyn ASC?

Hi Everyone,

By the way, if you're also interested....

Walk-ins worked for me for both the I-751 and for the N-400!

And it did speed up my N-400 case too....lol...

You can read a detailed review about my I-751 experience (September 2008), which I posted last year on VJ here:

I-751: Biometrics “Walk-In Gamble”...., A Detailed Review of Ant's "Successful Day"...

You can read a detailed review about my N-400 experience (September 2009), which I posted recently on VJ here:

In my opinion, if you can do a walk-in and want to do such for a valid and legitimite reason, I say, "Go for it!"...

Don't let the USCIS run your life....Run the USCIS instead...lol...Go when it is convenient for you, not them!

Hope this helps too. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journeys as well.

I just wanted to share my experience with you guys.

I went to the ASC in Brooklyn NY. I went there 5 days prior to my appointment date. The guard asked me why I was there so early and I replied "I have a conflict in my schedule". He did not make a big issue about it and let me in.

First, you fill out a paper with your information then move on to another desk where you get a waiting number like DMV and they check your fingers to see you do not have any cuts. I had a minor paper cut on my left index finger but was not a problem. The receptionist also checks your paper work. When you are bringing your ID and your ID has your maiden last name, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE! Well, I did not. I had my passport with me which had my maiden name on. I was asked to go and see the manager and see if we can resolve this. The manager asked me if I had anything that can show that my name have changed... I searched my wallet and there it was! My insurance card!!! So, the manager checked the insurance card and let me in.

Now, the wait for the finger printing. I had like 60 people ahead of me so I think I must have been there for a little under 2 hours I guess. You wait for for your number to come up on the screen and when your number comes up, you go to the area where your fingerprint and photo will be taken. The clerks were nice. The process of fingerprinting and photo taking will be done in minutes.

I hope this helps someone out there!
