I forgot today was a holiday for post offices, so I have to go get my envelope tomorrow before we go to Montreal.

Same with the money. I need 20 US more and they weren't open.

You can go to a Rexall or Shoppers. The lady was working tonight at my Rexall.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

It's too late anyway. I live like 25 minutes walking away from them, we dont have our car yet and the buses arent running anymore.

So now my next frustration... Brian and I want to choose a date for our wedding. We're looking at late March or April. I'm looking at fares for my immediate family - and everything is quoting $700!!! Aeroplan sucks as it is NEVER available for the dates I need, even though we are looking at several different weekend options, even from different cities. Honestly, when will all this stuff end?

All I can say is don't rule out flying out FROM a U.S. airport, if that's possible. I'm not sure where you live, but if you're within two hours of a city like Buffalo etc., you'll find flights a LOT cheaper.

Actually, have you checked out Allegiant Air? They're a destination-based airline that flies out of small cities to a few choice vacation spots...one of which is Orlando. And they're also dirt cheap. Again, I don't know where you're located, but if you're in the Montreal area, you could fly out of Plattsburgh, New York, which is only about 100 KM away.

Just a thought. I always fly out of U.S. airports (usually Seattle), as they are often half the price (if not more) of Canadian ones.

Thanks Wyatt's Torch. I have been playing with Aeroplan's site and think I may have discovered some options if we get married on a Friday in April.

I will still look into Allegiant Air for other possibilities! I live in Ottawa. A few people I know fly out of Syracuse which I believe is 3 1/2 hours away. It hurts cause I currently work for an airline but will leaving my job to move... so the paying taxes only thing to looking at fares for family over $700 each made my eyes pop out of my head! I've been living in a really nice travel bubble for 3 years! lol.

I am also in Ottawa, and I fly out of syracuse all the time and I can usually get to Atlanta for about $200 return (I usually book thru priceline or orbitz). And the parking at the syracuse airport is fairly cheap (I think about $7 a day....outdoor, but right at the airport so no shuttle required). I usually take an early morning flight, so leave Ottawa at about 1-2am and I am usually at the airport in 2.5-3hrs. Going that early in the morning there is never a wait at the border!! It is definitely worth the drive to save about $500 a pop on a flight.

I agree with Wyatt. We used to fly out of Tortono, but flying out of Buffalo is half the price! I don't even look at AirCanada or West Jet anymore. We just fly AirTran out of Buffalo/Niagra, NY. :)

Yeah, flying in America is so much cheaper.

My return flight from Seattle to Washington D.C. a week and a half ago was only $240 on Airtran. By contrast, my very first flight from Vancouver to Washington D.C. over a year ago (the first time I met my wife in person, and before I knew to look for airfares out of Seattle...) was over $800.

Honestly, none of my last five flights within the U.S. were over $300. Contrast that with my flight to Hamilton later this month, which is $515.

If you're within two or three hours of a U.S. city, it'll be worth your while. Definitely make a point of checking out Orbitz, Expedia and Travelocity.

We always paid $300-$450 +/- for flights from Toronto to Orlando. The Buffalo- Orlando flights have been $145-$175 (that's with the fees and taxes included!)

Mine still hasn't shown up on Canada Post's website. :(

Oh well, they said hopefully they'd get them out this week... I'd just as soon assume that it's a lag in Canada Post's website than Montreal not having mailed Monday's visas yet.
