I'm getting tired of hearing this. Yesterday I went to the AT&T mobile store to replace a missing phone, and the rep taking my order was a newbee in training so of course every step of the way took three times as long as it should. Like any brand newbee, she had to have another dude had to tell her how to do every single thing. I didn't mind because she was kind of cute and I was in no hurry. But at the end of the exchange I get the "Given my performance today would you recommend me to other's?" I reply- "You personally?" She says "yes" so you know I have to be honest. "Why would I recommend you personally?", I asked "You're a trainee". I guess they don't prepare them for negative answers. Yes, of course if you are buying a new phone and you want to spend a lot of time there, there is a new girl working at the AT&T mobile store that's just right for you.

What kind of stupid question is that? Why do companies ask their reps to ask customers what they think of the job they did? Do they always expect an honest answer? I gave a CSR a rating of 7 out of 10 once and she said "what could I have done to bring that up to a 10?" like I meant that in a bad way. I told you what I wanted. You entered it into the computer, and so far it doesn't seem like you screwed it up, but really I won't know until I get my bill, right? I'll call back at the end of the month and give you an extra point if it goes right. If you want a 10 you should have upgraded me properly before I even called you!! You aren't outstanding just because you don't screw up. But no, if I want to get off the phone sooner I have to give them a 10 even though they aren't a 10.

Stop with this nonsense already.

Amen! I feel bad for most retail employees like this girl though because for the most part, they are under trained, have little or no benefits, and get paid near bottom wages. The corporate big wigs think they can cookie cut these workers into robots that will follow a scripted set of replies to your every question and you'll feel like you are the most important person in the room. Give that girl about 2-3 months and she'll start to hate acting like a robot.

Agree with this, seems like wherever I go today, get a long survey to fill out in the mail, even from my healthcare providers. How are we doing? If I toss them in the trash, they send another, and another.

Don't they know how well they are doing?

But don't fight them, join them, in the process of compiling a survey about me that I am going to send to all my friends, relatives, and work associates.

While on this subject, how am I doing on this board? Please select from the following answers.

a. Extremely excellent.

b. Prefect in every way.

c. Excellent, but should post more often.

d. Couldn't survive without you.
