Explanation of missing police certificate for S. Korea

I'm also in the process of putting together our DS-230 and my wife has already obtained her Police Certificate for Canada. In the form, she'll have addresses in S. Korea for the two years she lived there teaching English, but they do not issue police certificates in S. Korea for persons no longer residing there. I already sent an email to the consulate asking if we needed this and they said no.

My question is, do we include a brief explanation with the package stating why there is no police certificate for S. Korea? I can even include a copy of the email from the consulate stating that they didn't need it. Thoughts?

I also lived/worked in a country for 3 years that a police certificate is not available for. I also e-mailed the consulate like you did for confirmation that it was not needed, which they confirmed.

I printed up the e-mail response from the consulate and brought it with me to the interview. The woman did ask me for that police clearance and I said that it is not available from that country and that I had an e-mail from the embassy that confirmed this and if she would like it. SHe said no, not needed and that was that.

Print up the e-mail and bring it with you. Overall the embassy knows what countries there not available for, but you may get an interviewer or clerk who does not know, and that e-mail will be your friend.

Yes, include that e-mail.

Some countries really don't provide PCC to those expats who are no longer living in that specific country, Saudi Arabia is one of them.
