I got a quick and great response to my last question about the G-325A form, and am now onto the I-485 and have some more questions:

I am unsure of the following things:

1) What is the "A #"? Is this the same as what they call the "File Number" on the G-325A form?

2) What is the I-94#? On the K1 and K2 visas that we got, it says "Control Number" then we have a CBP Form I-94 stapled into the passports which reads in Portugues "Número de partida" or Departure Number. Is it one of these?

3) I am not sure what to put for "Current USCIS Status." Incidentally, we are late on our AOS, my wife and her daughter came into the country on March 10th, we had a baby shortly there after and got very busy. I've been told by other VJers that we should be fine as long as we submit things VERY soon, which we are planning on doing by early next week.

4) Below I-94# it reads "Expires on". I think that that is for the I-94#, but the way it's laid out, it also looks like it could be asking about expiration of current USCIS Status. Whichever one it's for, where do I find this info.

5) Further down on the form, it asks for Nonimmigrant Visa Number - again, so many numbers, not sure which one this is!

6) For "In what status did you last enter," I assume it's K-1 Fiance for my wife, and K-2 child of Fiance.

7) If I am filling out these forms for my wife and her daughter, should I fill out Part 5 - Signature of person preparing form?

Thanks for the help in this process, I know for some of you, these may seem like simple things to figure out, but I don't want to screw up!

You are all great! Good luck to all!

A# is your alien number. it is on your visa or your NOA.

2) What is the I-94#? On the K1 and K2 visas that we got, it says "Control Number" then we have a CBP Form I-94 stapled into the passports which reads in Portugues "Número de partida" or Departure Number. Is it one of these?

I-94 number is the big printed number on the front of the I-94 paper stapled in the passport.

3) I am not sure what to put for "Current USCIS Status." Incidentally, we are late on our AOS, my wife and her daughter came into the country on March 10th, we had a baby shortly there after and got very busy. They want the expiration of the I-94 itself not the USCIS status. Usually hand written on the I-94 or on the passport where they stamped it.

5) Further down on the form, it asks for Nonimmigrant Visa Number - again, so many numbers, not sure which one this is!

This is the number on the visa, not your alien number. This should be on the visa printed in red.

6) For "In what status did you last enter," I assume it's K-1 Fiance for my wife, and K-2 child of Fiance.

Correct.

7) If I am filling out these forms for my wife and her daughter, should I fill out Part 5 - Signature of person preparing form?

Yes if you are filling it out for them you should sign the preparing for them part as they didnt fill it out themselfs.

Thanks for the help in this process, I know for some of you, these may seem like simple things to figure out, but I don't want to screw up!

You put K-1 visa holder for your wife and K-2 visa holder for child.

Yes if you are filling it out for them you should sign the preparing for them part as they didnt fill it out themselfs.

Actually, that section if for if a lawyer fills out the form...that is why they ask for "Firm name and address". I filled out the forms for my husband, and he signed. Did not sign as the 'preparer'.

Thanks for the help in this process, I know for some of you, these may seem like simple things to figure out, but I don't want to screw up!

You are all great! Good luck to all!
