How's everyone doing? Are any of you on ETJ? www.everytingjamaican.com I know I have met a few of you on there. (Mindy and Anna). But for the other Chicago peeps....they are planing a ChiTown Link up. Perhaps in October. They talking about going to WildHare and or Exodus. Perhaps this is our time to finally meet. Whatcha tink?

Hey Jill....good to see you. We have really missed you. I haven't been on ETJ in ages.....I'll go on and see....who's planning it?

I feel my husban dis backing out of coming here.

This is a hard one. It's hard because you are not there and able to do all the running around that needs to be done. I know all about that. I am a control freak and almost flew down there a few times to "ring" Roy's neck 'cause he was pissing me off so much. But I do agree with everyone.....you need to get to the bottom of what is causing him to resist. I think that's what's most important right now.....once you figure out what the problem REALLY is you can go from there.

Go into the site and search for a thread titled "hello from Chi Town". Where's Anna?? She needs to get in on this. And JamaicaDiva too. I thought there were more of us. No?

Hi ladies....

I'm planning a trip to Orlando...way overwhelmed with all the hotel choices. can anyone recommend a nice hotel that is clean comfortable and somewhat affordable? There will be two of us and my stepdaughter.

Throw me out a few names...pleeeaseee!

Most definitely contact Kelly (Luvtravlin).....she got me a great rate for my hotel and took care of everything for me. Sometimes it is really nice to use a travel agent because it takes away all of the headache......they kinda watch your back for you.......

That is great!!!:dance: Did you send him the completed DS230 already or were you planning on having him fill it out himself?? In my case, I prepared eveything for Duane because it just made life easier for us and I did not have to worry or stress that it was not getting done right.....Yep...control freak I am!!:lol:

Trinilad-

Yes Jax.....weight watchers is the "BEST".......I lost 80 pounds 2 years ago and have kept it off!!!!!! Except for the 10 pounds I have gained since getting married......I told Duane that I am back on my program because I refuse to wear any of those "fat clothes" that are hanging in my closet.......Good luck girl....I have a ton of great weight watcher recipes and tips if intersted...just PM me....:thumbs:

First off, congratulations!!! That is a great accomplishment - keeping it off even better!

Second, donate those "fat clothes" girl!!!! NOW! :D

Thanks my girl but letting go of dem clothes is HARD........

Mornimg,

Phil and philman....soo cute

Jill hi

Nanny hope youo feel better soon.

Belwinmills- congrats on that big step to loosing weight. I have been fighting with mine I lost 10 punds but putit on with an additional 15 after being married.

I feel my husban dis backing out of coming here. Yes the packet has not been sent/recieved at his house yet but he keeps sayingthat it will come I shouldn't worry everytime I tell him to go to the embassy and pick it up so we can send it back and get an early appointment date. He won't even go for his police certificate. I am getting fed up withthis and he is not helping, please keep us in your prayers, I am two seconds away from giving up and callingit quits. I just don't want to,(please oh lawd give me the strenght) I need him here and he needs me bu the is too lazy to get off his butt and go and finish up I can't do anything more I am here.

I feel a massive headache coming on I am gonna take a few pills and fix my resume.

See you lata.

Marsha-

Girl.....sometimes I thought I was going to "pimp slap" :P:lol: Duane when we were going through this process......... the whole "No problem man, I will do it tomorrow" attitude killed me. I finally had to gte all up in his a$$ss before he would start moving.....thankfully...IT WORKED!!!!

You need to figure out if it is laziness, the "Jamaican Vibe" or if there is something behind it.......this is a two way process and he needs to move if he wants you both to be together......Otherwise, take a step back and please do not invest anymore time, money and stress into it........

thanks Kim,

I really think ist is this Jamaican-no problem-having-it will happen-tomorrow-idiotic vibe, I can't stand it. I know whatyouguysmight think thathis is a red flag and that their might be somethingholding him there and frankly that might be true, but atthe same time Iknow myhusband to be on onthose guys tojust lay back and wait, wait wait wait and then wait some more

I am gonna cal him later when I get home ( just in case it becomes a screaming match I don't want to be at work) to see where things are going.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

Sounds like they got a new "info lady." Good for you!! Congratulations on jumping one step forward <without taking two steps back.> Did they tell you how long until your interview?

yes its october 13th  i call yesterday an they told me... my wife (savanphil) is very happy but im nervous , i wil pick up my police rec an pac 4 on friday

Congrats on upcoming interview

Signed up for weight watchers today and at curves they are having a biggest losser competion. The competion are teams of four so know I need to be on my best behavior.

Good luck - since hubby got here I gained about 10 (but I am still sexy ). For all of you on the weight loss track, hang in there. Can't wait to be done with this school next month so I can get back in the gym.

I hope I have finally found the right place to post this question.

My fiance has her interview at the Jamaican embassy on October 31st 2006. I am 99% certain that I would be there even if it for moral support. So I am hoping to get some pointers for anyone who had an interview in Jamaica recently.

1) Do I need the last tax return or the last 3. The instructions from the embassy was unclear.

2) My income exceed the 125% treshold comfortably by about $15,000.00 so I am not worried about that area for the I-134. I am wondering however how much of an importance is the bank statement since I just have a couple thousand saved, but just curious as to what is "enough" for the interview.

3) Anything special to look out for at the interview. Any questions that jumped out at you or anything that you found the person conducting the interview focussing on.

4) do you think me being at the interview helps? We were hoping that she would have been here already and I am heading to Jamaica this weekend because I think that 6 months apart is taking a toll on her. I was hoping that I would not have to return a month later, but I just do not want to make this any more stressful for her so I am going to bite the bullet and make it back in October only if it will help. I am doing the "ticket" dance hoping Air Jamaica has another sale again.

Anything that you can tell me about the interview would be appreciated. Questions, concerns, tips etc.

I really want to say that reading this forum has been such a blessing for me. I keep telling my fiance that the US may be a culture shock to the laid back life of Jamaica. Your experiences have definitely given me some pointers in lil "adjustments" to look out for.

1. Bring the last three years tax returns!

2. Bank statements are basically to show that you haven't come up on a mysterious lump sum of money (aka a loan) to meet financial requirements for visa, and also to show paycheck deposits. Don't worry about actual bank account balance.

3. Hubby went alone, but I mailed a 5+ pound binder to JA and I had overkill info in there just to be sure we wouldn't get denied.

4. Significant other at the interview holds a lot of weight. If you can't make it, just be sure to have all they ask for at interview AND extras (emails sent to one another, cards, extra photos, receipts of purchases in JA, airfare itineraries to JA, etc.) to prove you have a bonafide relationship. Letters from friends and family that know the both of you help as well. My mother submitted a letter on our behalf for my husband.

I believe I sent you a pm a while back, but if you have any additional questions you can pm me. Good luck!

Will definitely keep you two in prayer. Not defending him, but he may be afraid of leaving home. Not sure how old your husband is, but it is hard to leave what you know behind and start a new life a farrin, especially when all you hear are rumors of how things run here. I hope that he has good people around him to encourage him and keep him on the right path. Try to hang in there stay in prayer.

You would think that with how much time, effort & money etc....not to mention the thought of being so close to being with his girl, you'd think he'd put that "no worries vibe" aside and get it going. This journey is hard enough. I experienced that same "vibe", but when it came to him getting what he needed to get done, it was done (ie, police report and packet). I know you say "I know my husband" ...but I feel we all don't know men as much as we all claim and wish. I don't think they realize how much goes into this and I don't think they should be playing around with something like this. Talk it out tonight and go with your gut. ;)

Isn't Packet 3 all the forms that hubby (or JA citizen) needs to fill out? We didn't even wait for ours, I had electronic copies and went to the website and filled them out myself  I saved them on my computer and sent them to him as attachments in email and he printed them out and signed the forms.
