good mornign all

happy birthday Roy and good luckon your interveiw

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." - Mother Theresa

Happy Friday!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful LOOOOOONG weekend!!!

Drew's interview was interesting...he went in for an administrative position and they tried to give him a totally different job.

That happens to Roy all the time. They tell him one thing over the phone and he gets there and it's completely different. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you guys!!

Today is Roy's birthday -- and his interview with the hotel in the city....wish us luck. This would be a great birthday present <especially considering I haven't gotten him anything.....yet....>

Happy birthday to ya

We got a HUGE electric bill last month -- Roy got a "tiny" check from Target that only would pay about 50% of the bill -- he handed me his whole check and said, "put this to the bill." It was sweet.....but.....he too feels bad that he can't contribute how much he wants to. All in due time.....then he can have it ALL!!:dance:

How sweet :luv:

Would you say this is the most difficult part of the entire visa process, when they finally get here and are unable to work?

Depends on how patient your man is. We talked and he's over yesterday's disapointment and now ready to move on to the next interview. He's seeing that life here in the States isn't as easy as he thought it would be. Thank goodness he has school (and digital cable) to keep him occupied

GIRLS HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP ME!!!

Alright I am stuck here. We filed AOs and EAD from a K-1 visa. Well they sent us our original receipt letters which were sent back by mailman on accident. (We didnt put our new last name on mail box) ( I live in apartment). Anyway, we got that fixed. Now we have asked the 1-800-375-3283 number to resend them since June 8th. We still have not received the letters. I have the MSC numbers from the back of the checks, but no letters and no EAD letter to get fingerprinted etc. Today, they say that we are in the system at the Missouri Service Center to have the letter sent again to get fingerprinted but we just have to wait! I said we've been waiting 3 months!!!!!!!!!!! So she said JUST WAIT SOME MORE. These people are rude. Anyway, do you think I can contact anyone else to help? Any suggestions. Im sort of freaking out! She also said its at Missouri Service Center waiting to be assigned. Well that means its been waiting for 3 months. Im about ready to throw a fit and Oneil wants to go to work.

There was one person on the board who had requested an extension regarding the interview in Kingston. I need some guidance please. Bert was to get off the ship on the 28th of this month (unconfirmed at the time) and he is hearing rumblings that he may be doing the repositioning back to New Orleans so now it may change to October 17th. :o

Do I contact the Embassy by phone to ask for an extension? We should know the interview day next week.

Actually November would work out better as I will be there from the 10th to the 21st and that would save (ME) so much money.

Would it be best to explain the situation and hope that they will be understanding and pick a day in-between the dates I am there???

Sorry to hear that. I am not sure what you can do. Can you make an InfoPass appointment and that way you speak with a live person. I know MsSquito got quite a run around and it did get resolved.

Good morning ladies, *looks around to ensure I see no men* allow me to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie and I live in northern California. A friend of mine suggested that I check this forum out as she felt it would be beneficial to me. I read over a few of the topics that are not pinned and realized in most threads it was suggested that people come to this thread, so here I am.

I am going to hold off on any questions I may have until I complete the previous reading. I started and am currently on page 15 or so. Forgive me as I skim and don't read completly.

A little about me and what brings me here, my SO is in JA and we have been oficially dating for about 7 months or so. I spent time there February, when we met, 2 weeks in the beginning of August and I am returning 12/6. He is also planning his visit here for sometime in Feb. I come here as I am uncertain as to where this relationship is going as there has been some mention of "tying the knot". If that is the case, I want to have my head on straight with regard to process and procedures. Not only that, I thought this would be a great support network for relationship woes and what not.

Anyway, please feel free to ask me any questions, for the most part I am an open book. I thank you for leaving the door to your home open and look forward to chatting with you all soon. Now, off to read.....

Welcome to the Yardies thread (L)

Happy Birthday Roy and good luck!

Ladies (and awol Eric),

7 days until our AOS interview. I am nervous. Henry is cranky and nervous. Taking a day off from work to organize our papers and then we can practice answering questions. Did someone post an AOS checklist in the old thread? Does anyone remember? I have to an advanced search for it. Please keep us in your prayers.

VJ has a post I forgot where but they have sample questions. Also read the AOS section where many have posted their interview experience.
