I had to share something funny. I was reading on the African board about miscommunications and it reminded me of one we had today just a little bit ago before he left for work.

We had pot pies the nite before last for dinner, but I had made an extra one for Lake if he wanted it, or to take to for his lunch. I had totally forgotten about it, this morn tho, and he was lookin and lookn in the fridge and I finally asked him...What in the WORLD are you looking for?

Well he never pays attention to how things are spelled on the box, he just listens to how we say it, a bad habit of his, (he doesnt like reading directions on food boxes either for some odd reason). So he asked me...where is that popeye?! I had him repeat it about 4 times and I STILL wasnt getting it cuz he WAS saying popeye. I repeated it back....? After I said it, it HIT me... Yep,...ah...all this time with the fridge open too!

Boy do I feel dumb!

 @ "popeye".

However, in short if anyone is willing can you give a brief description as to how you knew your SO, fiancee or husband was "the one".

I was in a relationship for 11 years and swore he was "the one". Obviously, since we are no longer together, he was not the one. ;)

Also, I would love to see the pictures you all speak of if anyone would like to give me the link, I'd be thrilled.

yeah, I want to know too . Although I really don't know if anyone can really answer that because we really don't know what the future holds. The question that always crosses my mind is 'does the reward outweigh the risk?'...especially for those of us who have already had a fairly successful long tem relationship that failed in the end. Does that make any sense? I just can't seem to take that leap of faith, and we're both getting weary.

Anywho- let me get :ot2: -Stephanie, please ask Ms. Squitto for an invite to the JA_US link on yahoo.

Good morning everyone. I'm still here at work - getting ready to go home in half an hour. This 3rd shift thing is so hard to get used to. I'm working while the rest of the world is sleeping and then I'm sleeping while everyone's at work  I don't even know what day it is anymore!

What's everyone doing for the holiday weekend? I might actually have 3 days off  I haven't had a day off since we got back from Jamaica 10 days ago :(

We need a good topic for today so I'll have lots of reading to do tonight when I come back to work! Any ideas? How about this: What was the biggest shock/surprise (good or bad) that your hubby experienced when he first got to the U.S.??

Tony couldn't believe all the nice cars people drive here. (I told him we don't all have white Toyota Corolla station wagons here  ) He was also in awe of the freeway system - how we have 3 or 4 lanes of traffic each way and the roads are actually smooth! When he first saw my neighborhood, he couldn't believe how quiet it was. No loud reggae music blaring, no stray dogs roaming the streets, no taxi's flying by every 3 seconds, etc.. And he flipped when I first took him to the grocery store - he couldn't believe how HUGE it was and that you could buy practically anything there!

Those are just a few of the initial impressions. I'm curious to see what everyone else comes up with.

Marsha,

What e-mail address did you use when you sent you inquire to the Embassy? I have been e-mailing them everyday without a response. Maybe I am sending it to the wrong address.
