I just read this in 'off topic' and thought I'd share; very touching...

attributed to JenT:

I believe –

… that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love

each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I believe -

. . . that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you

every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I believe -

. . . that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest

distance. Same goes for true love.

I believe -

. . . that you can do something in an instant that will give you

heartache for life.

I believe -

. . . that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I believe -

. . . that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may

be the last time you see them.

I believe -

. . . that you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I believe -

... that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I believe -

. . . that either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I believe -

. . . that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it

needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe -

. . . that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe -

. . . that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the

best time.

I believe -

. . . that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down,

will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe -

. . . that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but

that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I believe -

. . . that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had

and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays

you've celebrated.

I believe -

. . . that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you

have to learn to forgive yourself.

I believe -

. . . that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop

for your grief.

I believe -

. . . that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we

are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I believe -

. . . that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.

I believe -

. . . two people can look at the exact same thing and see something

totally different.

I believe -

. . . that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who

don't even know you.

I believe -

. . . that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend

cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I believe -

. . . that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I believe -

. . . that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too

soon.

I believe -

. . . that you should send this to all of the people that you believe in. I

just did.

Kim, I have never heard of such a thing, but I do know each state has different rules. Lake was able to even get his driver's license on just his I-94, but we got the ID card first with absolutely no probs whatsoever with just his passport and didnt even have to show the I-94 at that time.

The state DMV website sometimes is helpful, look it up and check out the rules for your state. It could have just been a clerk that had wrong information, or perhaps the rules are that strict in your state, but its hard for me to believe that, it seems like an error to me. Sorry to not be more help.

http://www.dmv.org/

Click on your state and somewhere in that mess should be rules on ID cards and whats needed. Hope that gives you some info.

Wow, Kim.

I was just looking at California rules and it looks like they are pretty strict, its confusing tho, one place it says a valid I-94, then another it says I-94 with a stamp saying AOS pending. Sheesh. Or a EAD. I know New York is another state thats real tuff to get an ID on just a visitor visa, or any other kind. Thats the funny thing, Lake got his ID card on just his visitors visa and the rules at our DMV AT THAT TIME would have allowed him to also get a drivers license on the visitors visa. Of course, there are beginning to be more and more immigrants here now, so rules are tightening up.

It was the first thing we did when he got here, before we even knew we wanted to get married or anything. The hardest thing to get was the darned fishing license, I had to jump thru hoops to get him a fishing license and oddly enuff the ID and the drivers license was a breeze.:help:

Hi Rhonda, I see ya down there, ya have your supply of Red Bull handy? I have never tried the stuff myself, perhaps I need some for mornings!

Anyone ever stayed at Alferds Ocean Place in Negril. The rooms are only 60$ a night.

I have not stayed there, but we did eat breakfast there a lot when we stayed in Negril. They have really good food. Also went to a beach party there one night that was nice.

We didn't have any problem getting Tony a MI State ID card. I wanted him to have some form of ID while we waited until he got his license. We had to show them a bunch of stuff with his name and picture on it - Passport, Visa, birth certificate, etc. - but we got it with no problems.

Hi Rhonda, I see ya down there, ya have your supply of Red Bull handy? I have never tried the stuff myself, perhaps I need some for mornings!

 I'm drinking one as we speak!! I need to join Sam's Club or something and start buying this stuff in bulk quantities - it costs a fortune. I love Red Bull though - I've been drinking it for years. I used to drink it in the morning when I had to start work at 5am

[Okay....we went to get Duane's ID card from DMV today and they told him they can't issue it!!! HELLO???? Why not....???? They said the I-94 expires on October 17, 2006 so we need an extention??? Has anyone ever heard of that before?? October is whne the 90 days are up but we got married before then and we are filing the AOS/EAD this week. Help guys!!!!

The Same thing happened to us. At least they told you up front, we paid for ours. It took forever, so finally we received a letter in the mail saying the The drivers license could not be issued until the USCIS updated his status, basically we have to wait until we get the green card to have a valid ID/DL. Way before that we applied for the basic state Id it came but by the time we received it, it was expired  Guess what we use The paper Id is Valid for one year. What sense dose that make?

Here in KC, the test is good for one year, We were told to fax our approval letter from the USCIS and they would mail the DL right away.

We received an e-mail that a welcome letter had been mailed.

congratulations.... that means ours soon come!!!!, please, please, please!!! Hubby went to the builders ASSC. to sign up for the apperticeship program at first they told him all he need was his GED enrollment and birth certerficate, NOT!! He was very depressed when we left this morning :crying:
