do you definitely need 3 years of tax returns? I have 2005 and 2004, cannot find 2003. I make well above the poverty level so do you think that would be a problem? I will have to rip through my house to find 03's.

Do I need to get a police record or is that just on the other end?

Thanks

Darlene-I have gottne the transcripts from teh IRS because I cannot find the tax returns. # years should be fine- try and get 2003 from the IRS. It is free and takes about 2 weeks to get to you.

I have always been under the impression that the PC is for the benificiary. I told my husband he need to go his- if I have to get on too thatis gonna be hard.

Thanks Denden- I am more excited- I still can't believe it. I have to start thinking like that .

I heard they are asking for only latest year tax return. I think they have changed the forms. Well, we got a touch today on AOS. No status change.

nice :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

yeah they changed the I1864. on July 21 ( not too sure of the date)

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

Good morning everyone!

No news yet from the new mother?

The wait is just as bad as waiting for an NOA...

I received my notice that my packet has been forwarded to Kingston but yet when I called the NVS it tells me they do not have a record of receiving my packet yet. Oh well I have a case number for Kingston. Is there anyway I can track that number to see if they have received it yet? There was no DHL number on the letter.

Question...Did your fiance have a difficult with adjusting to the rules here in the states? My guy is being so pig headed and the arguments have been more frequent. I try to explain that is how it is done here and that is the rule or the law. He is having a hard time getting past that. And it is not like he has never left Jamaica before, he has been working for the cruise industry for the last 10 years and has been all over the world.

Thick headed Jamaican!!!!

Good Morning Ladies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Darlene- Congrats onyour KNG 2006-##-### WELCOME TO THE CLUB :whistle:do this to track you wont get specifics the best specific info you could get is to call the embassy. Do this tracking once the NVC tells you they sent the package.

track by DHL:

GO to DHL Worlwide Express website

Select USA

A new page will open

At the top highlight tracking and click on TRACK BY REFERENCE

In the Reference field type CORRESPONDENCE

For the Shipment date you should select a day before and after the date NVC said they sent your file.

Customer number leave blank

Origin Postal code should be 03801

Then Click Track

Hello everyone!

We just got back from Jamaica last night. We had a lot of fun but the time flew by. 4 nights is just too short, especially when we have so many people to visit. We had a blast at Margaritaville the night of Tony's birthday. I got so drunk I did the Dutty Wine :D:devil: And I actually did a pretty good job of it! Although I did pull a muscle in my neck that hurt for 2 days :o

I'm here at work now and not happy about it  I'm on 3rd shift (midnights) as of today :ranting: I'm convinced that my boss hates me. No one else here gets moved around all the time like I do.

Going back to catch up now. Looks like I have about 9 pages to read :reading:

Topic for today:

Now that you're living together what is the one quality that stands out that your spouse/fiance has that makes you say 'I am the most fortunate/lucky/blessed woman/man in the world'?

His sense of humor. He always makes me laugh  I love that about him.

Rhonda and Tony have a great trip! Will you be able to bring everything with the airline restrictions in place?

Thanks. Yes we took everything we needed to take. We just had to check most of our luggage instead of just carrying it on like we had planned. We even managed to bring 3 bottles of Rum back  we just checked it with the luggage!!

Welcome back Rhonda. Glad you enjoyed you time

Thank all of you for the congrats. I can't wait I am hoping my hubby will be here by October, I am planning a trip for a week in Jamaica for the first week of October so I am hoping that the interveiw falls around there if not I am a$$ out.:dance::dance:

Ladies a quick question- I am getting ready for the interveiw ( well, not really- I just know we are gonna be denied :crying::crying: ) My question is when you guys go to Jamaica do you get all-inclusive or just the flight and hotel ( I normally go to family but I am not feeling that this year).

I have found a great deal with Sunset Beach Resort & Spa AI-All Inlcusive-I know it is MOntego Bay- far yes but I am not trying to stay in Kingston ($$$$$$$$)- or should I just give in and stay there to be close to the embassy?

Hi there. My fiancee and I just made it through the process and arrived in NC on Friday the 18th. The advice you are getting is right on. I can't tell you how well the advice served us. Please stay positive. I posted my interview story yesterday. But I posted it in the wrong place. I think this is the link. Hope it helps. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=96&t=27953 :D

I had a lot of trouble completing my final paperwork too. One minute I was head over heels in love - ready to do anything for my man to get here. The next minute I was wondering if I should have my head examined. When I got to the I-134 and saw all the personal financial information I was going to have to disclose, I freaked. But after some prayer (and some wine), I relaxed and decided that I'd rather live with a mistake than a regret. So I took a few deep breaths and pulled it together. I'm so happy I did.

I-134: I attached the last 3 years of my 1040 and W2 forms, a letter from my employer saying I was a regular full time employee in good standing making $xyz annually. I got a letter on bank letterhead with my balances. And I also attached a copy of my mortgage statement and my 401k. I probably didn't need the mortgage or 401k stuff - but I didn't want to take any chances.

They did not ask for a certified copy of my marriage certificate. In fact, since I am divorced, they actually gave me back my marriage certificate. They did take my divorce certificate. I had a certified copy with me but since they didn't ask for it specifically, I didn't provide it. It seemed to be fine.

My fiancee was dead set against overnighting in Kingston. He wanted to leave Negril at 2:30 am and drive. But advice from this forum convinced him otherwise. It was a wise move. The drive to Kingston from Negril was LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG and tiring. My fiancee drives like a madman. I spent half the trip in prayer, and the other half thinking "gee, I really ought to be praying" :) And all this on a Jamaican holiday! I can't imagine traveling in "rush hour". The stress would have been overwhelming.

We stayed at the Hilton. It was really expensive but very worth it to be so close to the embassy. Just get there early. And apply lots of bug spray before you go.

I liked both Decameron Bay and Sunset Beach. The food at Sunset Beach was better and the set up was pretty decent...but there were lots of kids and it is a more isolated location than Decameron which is right on the Hip Strip. If you go to Sunset, don't stay in the tower above the night club. Its soundproof from the outside but not from within the buidling. The drinks at Decameron were better and I liked the vibe a bit more. But either are nice.

Maybe you get a package deal in Montego Bay and spend the first night there relaxing. Then drive to Kingston the next day, spend the night, and drive back after your interview. You will lose a night at the all-inclusive - but you will get the package deal and have a nice place to come back to.

Well, I tend to write really long emails or not at all. I hope this one helps you. Take care. And again, please stay positive!

thanks Tali, I understand what you say about "One minute I was head over heels in love - ready to do anything for my man to get here. The next minute I was wondering if I should have my head examined. " I feel the same, yesterday I was sure I wanted to get him here today not so much. . . I finally got the things I have together and the way things look if they ask for much evidence then I am gonna go :thumbs down:

I am looking into the Knutsford Hotel. I was thinking of usinf the villa Elizabeth gave me.

Fly down on Air Jamaica and then have them pick me up stay there and then just use the taxi service to the embassy that morning.

I have a question I asked fo rand recieve the veriifcation from my employer bu tI think they did it wrong. They listed everything, shouldn't it be written in letter form? The infomration asked is all there bu tI think it should be in letter form, what you all think?

nigthie-night

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

I try to explain that is how it is done here and that is the rule or the law. He is having a hard time getting past that. Thick headed Jamaican!!!!

Yes, I have experienced these problems w/ my Jamaican also  Hang in there - it gets better!! Tony couldn't believe all the rules/laws we have here. A few of the more memorable ones: not being able to just urinate at the side of the road (or anywhere else you feel like going!) not being able to carry your drink out of the bar with you, the fact that all the bars stop serving alcohol at 2am, the fact that you can't drive here without having a legit license, etc.. I could go on and on. He's been here almost 2 years now, so he's getting more used to everything.

Rhonda do you like red bull? I remembered when I used to work 3rd shift for CitiBank as a Check Encoder I knew ppl that would drink that all night. Me, however used to take power naps during break. It would help a little since I also has another job to go after my shift was over. Girl, I know how you must feel but you have to take care of yourself or it will only get worse.

Funny you should say that Anna, I just drank a Red Bull  I love it. I can't stand coffee so that's my drink of choice. I try not to drink too much of it though because I want to be able to go to sleep as soon as I get home from work  I wish I could take a nap here, but because I'm the supervisor, it wouldn't look too good to my employees to find the boss sleeping on the job

Hey Rhonda. I did/do the night shift at times. I thinks it's a killer on your body. For me at about 3:30 in the morning my body shuts down. I get so tired, I once nodded of in the middle of a conversation. How can they just move you with out asking you first? Have you tried telling you boss that you just cannot do it? Are they threating to fire you? Like Anna said the Redbull works. Also those monster drinks, they really work for me. Streaching or walking exercices during your break or on down times. Then I cannot get to sleep when I get home :blink: Any way good luck.

Unfortunately, they can move me to any shift any time they want  This is the 3rd time I've been moved in less than a year. In the 5 years that I've been here I was on day shift for 3 years, then afternoons for almost 1 year, then days for about 6 months, then afternoons for almost 5 months, now midnights :ranting: I have been looking for other jobs, but will have to take a huge pay cut and I'm not ready to do that just yet.

Thanks for the advice ;)

Jax, so sorry to hear of the bad news :( My thoughts are with you. I know how difficult it is for you - our grandfather died exactly 1 week after my sister had gotten married.

You're not alone  I was in the same position a while back but, like you said, I would rather try it and see if it worked then spend the rest of my life wondering what if?? We've been married almost 2 years now and even though the first year was very rough, I don't regret it at all.

Yes, I have experienced these problems w/ my Jamaican also  Hang in there - it gets better!! Tony couldn't believe all the rules/laws we have here. I could go on and on. He's been here almost 2 years now, so he's getting more used to everything.

That is too funny. On my second trip to Jamaica a guy from the resort I had befriended on my first trip took me into Ochi one night and he takes me to the back of one of the shopping plaza's and low and behold is a place where everyone uses as a bathroom. I just stood there with my mouth open in disbelief as he whippes it out and takes a leak. :o:o Then along came a girl and did the same thing. I have seen much worse since.

The big thing now is when I told him he may have to get some shots and he hates needles. So all day Saturday we had several "disagreements" over the fact that if it is required he has to do it and he says no way, he does not have to do anything he does not want to. It's the rule I told him. There have been a few others lately. I just laugh about them now but at the time it was not so funny. :P

It is always, "we don't do that in Jamaica". But you will not be in Jamaica and that is how it is done here I tell him. I tell him that when I finally do get to see him and when I slap him side of the head just remember what it is for.

That's my thick-headed Jamaican.

WE ARE DONE!!!

Good Morning Everyone.

Happy Friday!! Congrats Kim and Duane on the wedding. Jax and Kim we are awaiting pics. Check out the following. With so much divorce in the homes today, I hope it help all your marriage stay stong and forever lasting.

Forever-Love Principles...

• Forever-love does not work to change or exchange a spouse.

• Forever-love believes that even small behavior changes can lead

to major improvements in relationships

• Forever-love is possible no matter what your circumstances

• Forever-love calls for courage to move beyond the status quo.

• Forever-love says the future = hope

• Forever-love says, "I'll take responsibility for

my own choices — past, present, and future.

• Forever-love accepts the reality of the past but lives beyond

the blame game.

• Forever-love can't change the weather. It can choose

how to respond to the weather

• Forever-love is willing to move beyond inherited,

intergenerational negative patterns

This is great!! :luv:

I can honestly say that it does not pay to stay away from this place..... I have so much reading and catching up to do i feel like i was out from school. i can only pray that everyone is okay.

i wanted to come on and post our AOS interview.

we got to the Garden City location at around 12:35pm and was called at around 1:25 (our appointment was for 1) we met wit the great guy who joked about how sure he was than jay was richie's but they may have to do a paternity test on me because jay looks exactly like his dad and not a bit like me. he asked me what was richies parents names but i forgot what his mothers name was so richie told him about the fact that he mother died since he was 9. then some other little questions were asked like where i worked and what i did and why richie went to jamaica the other day. the guy said everything was fine but the FBI name check is still pending but that should come through in about 1-4 months if all goes well within the world. All in all things are good so far.

Congrats on the wedding, kimlbs!

Well at least that part of the journey is over. I pray that the name check is speedy for Richie. Kiss the baby for me

Hey everyone I just posted some of the hundred wedding pics I have on the yahoo site. If you want to see more let me know I am making a photo book on yahoo. I will check back in a few hours to catch up. Its been crazy since I have gotten home. I can't believe the school year is starting once again this Monday. All the best and later

Jax

Great pics!! Thanks for sharing. I love that turquoise color

Yes, I want to see more pics. I want to see more of the Squitto's too.

We're still waiting on our pro pics...I'll post them as soon as I get them

i live in new york. i worked as a Senior Secretary in Jamaica. i also have an associate degree plus 74 college credits. i hear employers tend to give preference to persons who have done courses here. is that true?

Not necessarily. I'd say to link up with a staffing agency...I'm sure they can place you especially since you have administrative experience!!

Good morning,

Kim congrats on your upcoming wedding!!

Topic for today:

Now that you're living together what is the one quality that stands out that your spouse/fiance has that makes you say 'I am the most fortunate/lucky/blessed woman/man in the world'?

The one thing that stand out in our household is that hubby shows me that the word "Love" is an verb, instead of a word used to describe a feeling. He hardly ever tells me he loves me anymore but it's okay. Because he so puts his love for me into action: he serves me, he makes sacrifices for me, he listens, empathizes, appreciates and affirms me. No 'I love you" can ever replace it !!!!! :luv:

Awwwwwwwww that's so beautiful :luv:

Dee...Squito....Kelly......Where are you?????? We miss you!!!

Thanks for asking about me. We're doing very well thanks. Just busy. How's married life treatin' ya? :luv:

Welcome to THE WORLD, Elias!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Ditto!!! :dance::dance:

Happy birthday Elias!

Hello everyone - we received the greencard on Saturday

Yay!! Congrats :P

Good Morning Everyone!

We are going to a wedding today in San Francisco.....then we are having a Big BBQ celebration with friends and family tomorrow.......It feels soooo good to be married..... (L)(L)

You went to San Fransisco with a Jamaican  . How did you hubby deal with all the "BOTTIE BOIZ" . We live in NY, and my husband always have something to say when any guy walks by that looks slightly feminine. I had to tell him he can get arrested for threatening to beat them here:lol::P

I have to tell Squito that all the time :lol:

Girl..that has been our biggest challenge so far.....he wants to shoot dem all!!!

We drove through a very "Bootie Boy" area and he closed his eyes...he even held his breath and rolled up the window saying he did not want to breath the same air......... :P silly husband.......

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: hilarious!!

I got so drunk I did the Dutty Wine :D:devil: And I actually did a pretty good job of it! Although I did pull a muscle in my neck that hurt for 2 days :o

I can just imagine :lol::lol: welcome back!

Squito's working some crazy hours. Most nights he doesn't get home until around 10. But you're right, it is a killer on the (L) life.

Now you guys are all in the same position me and Tony have been in for awhile now! Our (L) life is WAY less than what it was before he was working. And it's even worse being on seperate shifts. We never even see each other :(

We've been trying to make the best of it. We're both saving a lot since we'd like to buy a house next year and we're trying to go to JA for the Christmas Holiday. We view it as an ends to a means. We've also been doing weekly date nights so that at least we have some special QT to look forward to. It's hard sometimes...but we work around it

Ladies a quick question- I am getting ready for the interveiw ( well, not really- I just know we are gonna be denied :crying::crying: ) My question is when you guys go to Jamaica do you get all-inclusive or just the flight and hotel ( I normally go to family but I am not feeling that this year).

I have found a great deal with Sunset Beach Resort & Spa AI-All Inlcusive-I know it is MOntego Bay- far yes but I am not trying to stay in Kingston ($$$$$$$$)- or should I just give in and stay there to be close to the embassy?

don't say that!!

I will be praying for you guys!!

Oh my gosh, I am so tired my eyes will barely stay open -_- I am still at work  So far, I am not liking 3rd shift. Has anyone been on the midnight shift before? I need all the ideas I can get on how to cope with this. There is nothing I can do short of quitting my job to get out of it and I can't afford to quit. :help:

Redbull does work wonders!!

do you definitely need 3 years of tax returns? I have 2005 and 2004, cannot find 2003. I make well above the poverty level so do you think that would be a problem? I will have to rip through my house to find 03's.

Do I need to get a police record or is that just on the other end?

Thanks

You don't need a police record, only he does. You can order your tax transcript for 2003 by calling the IRS 1800 number...

Hey ladies.. keep my family in your prayers my uncle Lowell died this morning. He went out at 3am to smoke when he couldn't sleep and had a heart attack we think. So I will be going to his visitation Thursday. (F)

I'm very sorry. My condolences to you and your family.

Hello:

Our records show that on August 15, 2006, the Embassy received an approved I-129F petition filed by you on behalf of your husband, Paul Phillips. On August 23, we sent the necessary forms and instructions concerning the requirements for a "K3" visa to Mr. Phillips at 123 Timbuktoo Lane, Bull Bay, St. Andrew, Jamaica. As soon as your fiance  has the required documents in his possession, he should complete and return the Form DS-230 Part 1 to the Embassy. When the date is determined, we will mail an appointment letter to him at the above address. After receiving the appointment letter, he should contact one of the Embassy's panel physicians (listed on the back of the medical form) and schedule his medical exam for at least ten days before the visa interview. He can apply for his police certificate any time now because it does not expire for one year.

While we do not need to see your birth certificate, we will need an original marriage certificate if the marriage took place in Jamaica, (issued by the Registrar General's Department), or a notarized copy of the marriage licence or certificate if the marriage took place in the U.S.

The documents that you will need to send for his to submit at the visa interview are as follows:

i) an original signed and notarized Affidavit of Support (I-134),

ii) copies of your 2005 recent federal income tax returns and W-2 form, and

iii) a current employment letter and/or pay stubs.

The fee for a "K3" visa is US$100 which is payable at any branch of Paymaster (Jamaica) Limited prior to the visa interview.

If the visa is approved at the time of the interview, it will be issued for collection in four to five working days

Yeay!!! :dance::dance:

Yes, I have experienced these problems w/ my Jamaican also  Hang in there - it gets better!! Tony couldn't believe all the rules/laws we have here. A few of the more memorable ones: not being able to just urinate at the side of the road (or anywhere else you feel like going!) I could go on and on. He's been here almost 2 years now, so he's getting more used to everything.

We've had this conversation.
