THANKS FOR SHARING ALL THE INFO. BUT I MUST ADMIT IT SOUNDS A LITTLE SCARY  I NEVER EVER THOUGHT THE ADJUSTMENT PROCESS OR THE RELATIONSHIP WOULD BE EASY. I KNOW IT WILL TAKE PLENTY OF PATIENTS AND ALOT OF WORK.

I LOVE MY JAMAICAN WITH ALL MY HEART... BUT I HAVE TO BE HONEST AND SAY THAT, NOW I AM WORRIED MORE THAN I EVER HAVE BEEN. I KNOW THERE WILL BE THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY. I ALSO KNOW THAT HE WILL CHANGE.... HE WILL HAVE TOO. I JUST PRAY THAT IT'S NOT FOR THE WORST.

Don't be scared off. Everyone is different and every situation is different. While Andre and I have experienced some "growing pains" we have survived and prospered.

Patience, love, understanding, and communication.

hello ladies...ok real quick....takin a quick breack from the kids....anyone have 2 bio appts??? mike has one on the 7th in Dover, Delaware and then one in Philly on the 11th....any thoughts to this??

We got dual letters too. Turns out the computer had a glitch and did that for everyone. Go to the first one and take both letters. Tell them so they can report it.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

I agree I have been on this board for over a 1 year and most of the Veterans do run across similar experieces with their SO when they get here.

Oh my gosh really the conversation today is to stressful for me. Can we have some light hearted conversation. :ot: Who will blow there eggs middles out and color them and glue them to make people and colorfull things. Then I will put tasles on them and hang them on my Easter tree.

:luv:

DITTO THAT DITTO THAT DITTO THAT. I mainly come to this board for assistance with the demanding paperwork filings. It has been very helpful in the past for many working on Non Immigrant info. I hope the education regarding this will continue.

PS. NO VISA DELIVERY YET. DAY 18

I understand your fusrations but lighten up. What is Non immigrant info, by the way? Some need support in other ways. Just take what is helpful to you from this site and leave the rest. What may not be helpful to you may do someone else some good.

True, I didn't mean to scare anyone. Just have faith and everything will work it's self out. I have been though a lot, I can honestly say hard work and perservation pays off in the end. Nothing worth having will come easy.

We did, butI filed the paper work seperately. I think there are some others who filed at the same time and had two bio appointments.

We filed ours at the same time and got letters for two separate appointments -- one they just did one finger -- the other they did all ten.

We didn't get our letters at the same time -- I would bring both to the first appointment and see if you can do both then....or, as Jomo said it could be one of the ones from the "glitch." No worries....

In defense, I would say of course he will change. Everything around him will change. And, you will change too, because new situations will be added. I personally believe each and every one of us changes every single day. Now is that for the good or for the bad? It all depends on who/what you encounter.

That's so true. I think the biggest point that everyone (might) be trying to get across is that it's not gonna be like it was when you were on vacation.....

We have a little Jamaican restaurant within walking distance that we get his Irish Moss at.....then there is an African store a few miles away....she always has Saltfish, Ackee (when she can get it) and she will have our BUN!! I am so excited. Last year I was doing Atkins and wouldn't even take a little bite. This year will be very different!!

I would love to know that store Mindy :)! We both have friends up near you and I have a very good friend who lives in the same town as Anna. I will ask you when my man arrives because my brain is on over load right now.

I made a decision along the way after going through my own struggles and seeing my other girlfriends go through all the issues that some of you are mentioning now - the irresponsibility, the lying, the infidelity, the abuse etc., that I would NEVER ever find myself in a relationship with a worthless, good-for-nothing, no-sense-of-values Jamaican man again. (this is where you can all cuss me now).

 I think many of us have had the same awful experiences with AMERICAN men! Maybe that's why we turned to Jamaican men. There's one common equation here ladies: MEN!! :P

Rhonda! You are such a wise woman. Couldn't agree with you more. MEN!!!

WE ARE DONE!!!

I have to say that I put in a plan for my man a long time ago. Reading all the veterns post. He will be on a summer adult soccer league, GED classes, when college comes into session maybe even their soccer team, he will have music lessons at NIU, he will go to Roatary meetings every Friday, and in his spare time hopefully get a part time job at Lowes or something across the street.

We have dreams about moving back an owning one of those new development townhomes. They are building some down the road from the villa where we got married called Spring Farm. 2 bed rooms and 2 baths 188 thousand USA. To Dream. I think we are in our quarter life crisis right now. I have always dreamed of working at the teachers college. If I could make good money as a teacher down there as I do up here we would move in a hearbeat.

Wow!! You ladies have been busy today. Figures, the one day I do not have access to a computer.

There has been some eye opening things being said.

I guess for the most part I am lucky. I have know Bert for almost 6 years and he has been my best friend during this time. When I first met him I was going out with his cousin and we would hang out with him and his girlfriend. In fact they broke up because she thought we were seeing each other but it was just stickly a friendship. I would kid him all the time saying if I were younger or he were old I wouldn't let him get away. There is a LARGE age difference between us and it has never bothered him. It was me that held off because of it.

I have to say he has been awesome for the most part. I have to get used to some of his ways. And I am lucky that he tolerates me and my moods.

He had done quite a bit of work around the house because he felt terrible that I would get up and go to work and he couldn't.

He recognizes the fact things are expensive. He budgets, I charge. He has a good idea of how much debt I am in and how much is because of him.

The biggest argument we have had is he is not used to "checking in" with anyone. He just started working last Saturday. Hewas working late last night and did not call so I was upset with him when he got home. He could not figure out why I was so mad. His car is older and he has only been here for 2 1/2 month so I didn't know if he broke down, got stopped, or of course a million bad things was running through my mind.

He apoligized this morning and I said I was also sorry but I care and I worry. That is me. I asked him to please just have some common courtesy regarding some things.

Tonight he is running late and has called. That is all I have asked.

I have had to make a lot of adjustment because he is not a touchy, feely, kissy kind of guy and the fact I am, I have tried to back off and he has tried to be more affectionate. All in time. It is better than it was a month ago and getting better everyday. One day at a time.

I trust him 100% even though I am older and overweight. I know him and I know he would not do anything to hurt me. He has respected me from day one. He has respected my friends. He is different. I don't know what to say. I keep telling him I am going to find him some fine young thing to have babies with and he laughs.

As I said I am lucky because he tolerates me.

PS:

He got his first pay check today. He has texted me 3 times and called 2 times to say he is running late but he is taking me out to dinner. His treat!!!

WE ARE DONE!!!
