Congrats :thumbs: It sounds like fun. Don't forget the Jamaican tradition of Flouring your love one on his birthday. It's the funniest thing I have seen. We did it to my husband last year :lol: . I don't know if a ten year old would enjoy that but how exciting for him he must be telling all his friends of his upcoming trip. :luv: You two have fun!

What is flouring? Never heard of it :huh:

Let me see if I can find a luck of hubby Floured on his birthday last year. I wish I could be there with him this Wed and do it again that would rock.

Ask Tony about it. It is a tradition that you poor flour on the birthday person. They told me they were going to do it on our wedding dat to me because it was my birthday I said hell no or they would get a beat down.

Does anyone know.....can Roy bring a bottle of Sorrel back for me? Just want to make sure he doesn't have any problems...

I would wrap it in underwear or a cotton tshirt then jeans and put it in a plastic sack just incase it explodes or get a ziploic case. A few things I wrapped last trip broke so be real careful :whistle:

texas....sorry to hear that but...it can take up to 2 weeks..and weekends don't count..sometimes the printer jams and they have to fix it...the visa is acutally printed onto his passport....not just a little stamp like when we go through customs....so keep your chin up the hardest part is over....at least you didn't buy a plane ticket for him like i did for mike....

texasbound you must be so frustrated with the big hold up with the visa. i'm sorry all this is going on...and i hope he gets it soon!

you all got me all excited talking about weddings here. the thing i hate most is that you can plan and prepare everything except the date. when people ask me, "when's the wedding?" all they get back is "i dunno." ahhhh is driving me nuts! lol

i am so glad someone mentioned having a potluck reception. i want to do that since the food will be our biggest expense, and we need to set some money aside for the AOS. i was afraid a potluck would be too tacky! it would be really hard for me to just have something small, since my family is huge and my coworkers want to attend. there will be at least 100 people there. thankfully, the staff at my school are wonderful and i was told that if i needed help with anything at all, all i have to do is ask. i'm staying positive that i can pull off a decent wedding because i really just want to do it once!

Texas I can't believe you still haven't received your Visa yet :wacko::blink: I wonder what the hold up is??

IT IS STILL NOT PRINTED YET!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called the Embassy & they said that it is hung up in the computer system & they would call the computer person to check on it in Washington!!! She said she would call my fiancee back & tell him what is going on. (Yea sure, right, Im stupid now) I cant believe it. Why me, Why me!!! I am going to lose my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! :help:

I have emailed my Congresswoman again. This makes no sense. She also said it usually takes 4 days & that we are stuck in the system. What the Hell does that mean? I am no longer calm. This is BULL SHI............

Texas Bound, I'm sending a big hug your way, too. Just breathe. I agree with nannygirl, the hard part is done. I know it must be driving you crazy to have gone through all of that and still not have him here. But soon. Just think of how great it will be to see him walk out of the passenger area at the airport. Just hold on to that and know that it will be soon.

Are you able to get a bank letter from your mother, and go have your I-134 notarized this morning? If so find out if you can fax the info to him. There's got to be somewhere near the Embassy where he can go to receive the info. Give it a try ;)

Dont give up. Someone over there can notorize the I-134. You may get by without a bank letter if you have some acct info. Remember mine was very odd, they didnt even look at my statements or bank letter. But look at me now. No visa released yet.
