The plane I took last spring break was broke. We started to fly in the air and all of us said the plane sounded funny. They turned around and went back to OHare. It was scary if they wouldn't of caught the problem they said we would of been toast.

Mindy it must be quiet all by yourself. What are you going to do with your free time?

That would have been the LAST plane ride I ever took!!!

It is quiet -- and so far really nice!!! He called me from the street in Kingston -- I sure don't miss those phone calls!!!!

Man I can't wait for the phone calls to be over. We have nothing really to talk about that much anymore after 9 years what else is there to say.

Finally got the times hubby thinks we should go. Now I need to book the hotel. The pirces for the Hilton Dropped in May but still there are no rooms. So were going to go with the villa.

TEXASBOUND CONGRATS!!!!

Thanks for the low down. One, question: so did they ask for those profile shots or not? It seems frightening to me that the YOU knew more than the woman at the window. It is so arbitrary depending on who you get and what THEY know or dont know. Hope that your man gets the visa in hand quickly. Where does he live? I think that is a strong factor in how quickly one gets it.

Belwinmills - Now all you have to do is countdown the days!

They did not ask for the 2 side profile shots. We did have them since it was requested on their form. He lives in Black River. We chose the Kingston Airpak location in hopes of saving 1-2 day delivery time. Thank you guys so much for everything. Im sending many blessings to you.

Question, please. When our fiance(e)s are sent packet 3, they just return the DS230 to the embassy and then the wait starts for the interview date, right? What do they need to do to return the DS230? I mean, do they just walk up to a window at the embassy and hand it in? Do they speak to someone outside that directs them to where they need to go inside?

You can mail it. Use a tracking service. Before we had an appt. scheduled to pick up Packet 3 & he could have dropped it off at that time.

Im not sure about drop offs without appointments. After the DS-230 is received it takes about 2-4weeks to receive an interview date, take a look at my timeline, I tried to be very detailed for future posters.

I guess I have just been really lucky -- I love Air Jamaica -- I have never had a problem and the flights have always been really enjoyable (ha, ha) even the little puddle jumpers I have taken from Tinson Pen to MoBay.

I flew Spirit last time (for the interview) -- it was an absolute nightmare. I got one of those $119 flights.....they were just horrible. I actualy felt like I paid $119 for the flights......

Question, please. When our fiance(e)s are sent packet 3, they just return the DS230 to the embassy and then the wait starts for the interview date, right? What do they need to do to return the DS230? I mean, do they just walk up to a window at the embassy and hand it in? Do they speak to someone outside that directs them to where they need to go inside?

when mike went a year ago....he just went inside and handed it off...i thought some ppl were posting saying you needed a appt. time not sure someone who has gone through that part recently should post and let you know what the new way is....

Thank you. I got an email reply from the embassy saying they could not give an appointment because DS230 had not been returned. I don't think they make an appointment for it. I just wondered if there was a specific thing they needed to say or a specific window to go to or something. I know that you can't just walk into the embassy, so I want to be able to tell my fiance what he needs to do and say to drop it off.

I don't know if they've even sent the packet out to him, but I'm not waiting, I know it's going to take long enough as it is to get the interview date.

I think what they are saying to you is they cannot give you an "Interview" date until the DS230 is turned in. Things have changed at the Embassy -- before, you could just go to the "Information Window" and drop of the DS230 -- NOW -- I believe they are requiring you to MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to drop anything off. Like Shauna said -- you really should confirm this with someone who has just recently done this at the Embassy

Okay.

So, recent interviewees: what was the procedure for dropping of the DS230 at the embassy. Does the fiance have to call or email to schedule an appointment or can they just take it to the embassy? If they can just take it there, is there a specific place in the embassy that they need to go?

Thanks.

My fiance had an appt. to drop of the DS230. He also had an appt. to pick up the packet with the interview letter because we thought it got lost in the mail..... it actually showed up a week after he picked it up. But, I had already called the embassy and gotten the interview date.... So, you definitely need an appt. to drop of the DS230. You need an appt. for everything...

The DS-230 will be in packet #3. You can make the appt to pick up packet #3 and have your fiance drop off the DS-230 part I at that time. Packet #3 pretty much has the checklist and other info that is important. Once the DS-230 is returned they will then schedule the interview and send out packet #4. That package will have the interview letter that must be brought to the medical and the actual interview at the Embassy.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to have happen. My plan is to mail the form to him, already filled out. By the time he gets it in the mail from me, we should know his appointment date and time to pick up packet 3, which he'll really be dropping off (well, he'll drop off the DS230). Is that correct? And then at some point after that, the embassy will send out packet 4 with the appointment letter. Right?
