the I-864 IS only for folks who are already married right?

my K-1 book is almost 200 pages long! i'll be picking up the last of the required documents (bank letter and notarize the I-134) tomorrow. all my fiance needs is the police report and med. exam. he already has about 10 passport photos but i think i'll send him back to get a few profile photos just in case the embassy asks for it.

Yes, you will need to do the I-864 after your man comes here and you are married and file for AOS (adjustment of status). It sounds like you are well prepared!

Back again. Hubby just called, and he misplaced his cell phone again :angry:

First he lost his wallet (that had the EAD card in it - we were together that day and I was pissed), then he dropped his cell phone (I found it) now this - and he has NO insurance on this phone  sometimes I feel he would lose his brain if it weren't in his skull...

Jonesie - I feel your pain. Damien keep forgetting his ATM card in the machine :bonk:

Question for green card holders - does your husband or wife carry the green card in their wallets? I read somewhere on this site that green card holders have to carry it at all times.

If you are working, paystubs.

If you've ever been married, divorce decree.

You can fill out the I134 online (probably better than hand written).

And you will also need the interview letter along with the other documents.

Congrats on getting one step closer! :)

Just another tidbit of information (and/or suggestion).......

Instead of paying for passport photos upon passport photos..... I had one of Craig's passport photos that he gave to me (in the very beginning) and I brought it home and made copies on my copier/scanner at home onto FUJI photo film and so he had a TON, but it only cost me $4.00 for 12 sheets of glossy film paper. He had about 15 photos that I copied.

If anyone has capability of doing that....and getting it to your SO.....it saves in the extra expense!

Question for green card holders - does your husband or wife carry the green card in their wallets? I read somewhere on this site that green card holders have to carry it at all times.

I read that too -- and was FREAKING about it -- but, I decided that the GC will stay locked up in the safe until he needs it. I did bring it with us to San Diego last June -- just in case...

I tell everyone the same thing except if you take the picture and go to somewhere they have the Kodak picture maker you can make a sheet of passport pictures for under 50 cents. I did that with my passport pictures and the ones we just sent in for the AOS.

$7.99 for 2 pictures. Highway robbery....

WE ARE DONE!!!

If you are working, paystubs. Even with the employer letter? How many?

If you've ever been married, divorce decree. Nope, never married, either of us.

You can fill out the I134 online (probably better than hand written). Really? I didn't think so, I'll try again.

And you will also need the interview letter along with the other documents. Oh yes, can't forget that. Well, don't want to.

I don't have a scanner, so I can't do that. I wonder if I can use the suggestion above about Kodak Picturemaker?

Ah, here it goes. Okay, so they would scan the picture? I'll try that because I have one of his.

They wanted $7.99 for 2 at some places around here, but at CVS I was able to get 6 for the same price.

SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!

We got our NOA2 email this morning!!!

On a sobering note, because I lived in Jamaica for 12 years, I have to get a criminal record from them there....Sent my fingerprints and notorized photos off two weeks ago to one of my friends in Jamaica so she could get it for me, to the WRONG address!! Right street name, but wrong house number, I missed a digit off :(

Anyway hopefully it will be fine, she went to speak to the people there and they say they'll give it to her when it comes. Just hope they don't think there's anything valuable in there....

Just hoping there won't be any delays with the criminal record, as interviews here are normally about a month after NOA2.....Wish it were as simple as here, paid £10 and got my UK criminal record in two and a half weeks....

Congrats on your approval!!!

Not anymore. Now you have to make an appt BEFORE you can pick up packet #3 and then you will only need the case #.

Hi everyone!! Thanks for the great advice on passport pictures. I have a couple passport pictures of his left in my drawer. I will copy them and send them down. His birthday is on March 28th so hopefully I can get it done today and send him a card. Whoopie my last card too him. Praying that someone at the embassy picks up the phone today and gives me a stinky date. Wishing it was next week or the first week of April because I have break and 2 days off for Easter. Wishful thinking
