I just sold some books online for 96 dollars that should help cover his medical cost. Thinking about ebay next. Has anyone sold things on Ebay?

I love e-bay!! I've only sold one item so far, but I listed it at $45 and got $63 for it! It was a gold, Harley Davidson belly button ring. I'm also thinking of selling my old textbooks on Amazon. Is that where you sold your books?

Take lots of photos, you can host them in Photobucket and avoid paying for extra pictures.

How does that work? I only posted one pic because I didn't want to pay more $$$

Question?? How did you guys get to Kingston? Taxi, rent a car and drive, fly??? If you flew in could you rent a car at the airport and use your credit card? What hotel did you stay at and was it okay? Did the hotel accept credit cards?

Wondering if Dwain should drive from MoBay or if we should fly from Mobay to Kingston. I know we have discussed this before but I have forgotten. The Hilton is very expensive at 448 dollars. Is it really worth it to stay there the night before?

When I went I flew into Kingston. We had rented a car from someone Bert knew but you can rent cars at or near the airport. You have to be careful and research it first. Since he is coming from Mobay if he knows someone he can rent from seeing he has to drive to Kingston anyway that is cheaper. The Hilton is that expensive now because of the World Cup Cricket. All the hotels have doubled or tripled thier prices for this event.

We stayed at the Knutsfort Court but I do not know where the Embassy is now in regards to location.

Yes it is worth staying the night before especially if you have an early morning appointment. Do you do not want to start out at 2 am and driving those rodes in the dark. You have time to do your research and I am sure some who has an upcoming interview will tell you what hotels are closest to the Embassy.

WE ARE DONE!!!

I sold my books on www.cash4books.net they only take select books. They pay the shipping and handling on the books.

Do you guys sell small or big items? What have you sold before? How did you figure out shipping cost?

I have always flown to Kingston and taken a JUTA to the Hilton -- the only place I have ever stayed. We heard the rates are really high now because of the Cricket games.....I 100% suggest that you stay in Kingston the night before the interview. If you do nothing else do this. Find a place to stay (check out the Sunset) and do it. The interview is much too important to miss 'cause you got a flat tire on the way.

When I was in school my parents came up one weekend and we went driving around -- I still remember the "little" towns we came upon -- that would be my dream to live out there. If your parents are willing to let you "give it a try" for the summer - do it!!

Thanks Darlene :). Many of the cheaper hotels are sold out because of cricket it looks like.

Happy birthday tomorrow Nannygirl!

Good luck to those of you who have interviews as well!

When I get back I hope to hear lots of good things happening to you all!

I can't believe I leave tonight!

But at least I think I covered everything in my packing, I am going to take my BC for Marlon rather than mailing it as well as the letters I copied. The rest of the paperwork he will need I will compile when I return. I can't wait to see him, it's hard to believe that it has been almost 6 months since I have seen him! This is also my time to grieve the loss of mom and share my pain with my love. I have to say that I have too much joy in my heart to be overshadowed by too much sadness, he and I will be together here in Arizona sometime this year! Can't say I will miss academia during the time I am gone! lol

I will check in from time to time today at work however I keep getting the server load is too high to check for new posts!

At my interview I could hear another person getting interviewed at window 22. The interviewer was a man, he asked how old was her husband and she 53yrs old. She look like she was about in her 20's. and the man ask her if didn't her husband had girlfriend somewhere. and how could she trust a divorced 53 yr old. it was so bad everyone felt bad for her , but she held ground and didn't let fluster her she told loved her divorced 53 yr old. She was approved.

Is there a glass seperating the Officer and us? I didn't know everyone could here your interview taking place. I'm glad she was able to stand her grounds and get an approval.

Yes there is a glass seperating us from the interviewer. they talk through a mic and the people sitting behind you can hear both you and the interviewer.

Mindy thanks for the positive words. You could come out and visit sometime. We could have a big boom fire party for all the couples in JA. Just an idea. I grew up when I was little (1-11) in a town of 800 it wasn't that bad. We would have girl weekends and go to the mall but the odd thing was my dad would take us. It was a blast and something to look forward too.

:luv::yes:

Mindy do you know what towns you went through? Many people come to Shabbona state park from the city to camp and fish. The bad thing is that the Native Americans want back that land to build a casino.

My students are taken the state test this week and I have way to much free time.
