The bad part is it would take 6 hours to mow the grass

Not if you go buy some Billy Goats

We could have curried goat then! Evil

:lol: Yes you could. You can raise them, let them eat your grass to fatten up, and then........

You are too funny!! I was trying to offer you some help!

Thanks we just talked he said wait till he gets here. City boy I bet he won't want to go. Worth a shot I guess.

I like the new 'do denden. Nice pic.

Thanks, but no..the old "do"...I just cut it off....now I'm wearing a silky weave ;) B)

Dee, I liked the "old do" too. Are you going to stay natural? My goal for 2007 is to stay natural...I always end up putting a kiddie perm in my hair once or twice a year. I'm going to start twisting my hair next weekend...now I have a curly "fro".

I tried to go natural too, and I did for a year but I had some breakage so I decided to get a mild relaxer. As some of you know I'm multi-racial and so is my hair LOL. Naturally most of it is wavy but there are some areas that are bone straight and one patch that's a little kinkier; and it varies in thickness too. My experiment to go natural looked a little funny, as I couldn't get it to look consistent.

I remember some time back Jonesie listed some vitamins that would strengthen your hair. Jonesie can you give me the list it again?

Anyone else have any suggestions for hair care?

Hey JAtoCT :)

I was taking:

Flax seed oil pills

Vitamin A

Liquid silica (you can add the drops to water - I highly recommend)

Increased protein intake - you can do this with protein shakes/bars/chicken breast/etc.

8+ cups of water daily

Now I'm just taking a prenatal vitamin (from Walgreens), but still eating protein and drinking lots of water. My stylist said my hair is a lot softer and easier to manage, and has grown so much this year. I can't do it myself (extremely thick and wavy) so I go to the salon for deep condition/flat iron/hot oil treatments

I'm relaxer free (yay!) but waiting on this color to grow out (I did some blonde/camel colored highlights in 2003 :()

Family,

Just wanted to say good night. I am so glad that so many of us have March appointments and can check and doublecheck our stuff. My apologies to you veterans who are already past this phase. I hope we are not monopolizing the thread too much lately

I ditto Ricardos comment.

I hope all the veterans know that we are just excited and nervous.... don't mean to monopolize the thread. Have a great night everyone..... another week begins....

3 weeks and counting until I DAY

No need to apoligize. I'm excited for you and I'm sure the veterans are only happy to help

I agree  we're rooting for you all to get approved and don't mind helping out

Hey My VJ Family!!!

Just wanted to check in and say hi.....things are basically still the same over here in Cali.....we are still waiting for the green card.....the FBI name check is still pending!!!!:whistle:

Duane is busy with his art.....we have started a new thing and he is selling prints of all his paintings for much less than the originals are selling......he has had a lot of success with his art and it does help out alot.....I am busy at work myself and we are just trotting along like an old married couple....:lol::lol:

It seems like years ago that we were going through all the waiting for the K1 and stress of traveling back and forth to JA.....we are still waiting but at least he is here so it is a little different...Hope all is well with everyone and I hope things are going great for all newbies.....it sure seems that many things have changed with Kingston embassy. CRAZYYYYYY........:wacko:

Take care everyone...I will check in and say hi periodically!!! (L)

Hey Kelly and Duane!

Have a good evening everyone. I start training for a new job tomorrow and I have to be there at the a$$crack of dawn (7am) so my commute will be about an hour long :( - but still thankful for a job!

I'll holla tomorrow.

Hi Family I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Thanks for telling me to get things notarized I will be meeting with my financial planner and he can do that for me.

All those March interview are going to start and good luck on all of them. I know you will all do great. I will be looking to all of you about your experience.

My interview is in April --- thanks Sonshyne

I know I have total have been worried about money and going nutts. Dwain called today and asked if i could go get this cheap car for 2 thousand he found on the net so he could drive to school. I told him not yet until he gets a job. Then my brother suggested that I buy this 3 bedroom farm house from my mom and dad that needs minor work like some carpet and paint. I could pay for it all in cash except for 4 thousand dollars of it. Then all I would be paying for is taxes. We could pay for him to go to school and almost everything on my pay check. He could concentrate on college with maybe only working 10 hours a week. I think it is great but don't know if my hubby would go for it. We could also buy that car he wants with cash too. What would you guys do. I am afraid of living in a town of 6 people. Yes they are all im-breads LOL joking. But we could save money like crazy and go to JA every year debt free. The farm house is the same distance away from my job. Would you move from a town of 40 thousand to a town of 6 to save money?

The bad part is it would take 6 hours to mow the grass

YES!!!

If you both want to, after he's finished school and you are both working, then you can move on....That security would be incredible....If you need people, jump in the car and drive out!

How much time will you both have for socializing etc when he's studying hard, you are both getting used to living with each other etc.....I would go for it like a SHOT!

But, I think the most importnt thing is to talk to your husband, he is unlikle yot be happy if you don't include him in the decison making process....

I hadnt heard of this $335 fee either but it clearly states it on one of his instruction sheets. I would really like to know what it is. If anyone else knows something please let us know.

Next, redoing the I-134 is no problem. Can do. But I wonder if the I-864 has to be notarized too.

As far as the 156k you MUST do it online now-- yeah I think for the barcode too. The 157-158 can be handwritten according the the woman at the embassy. She told us to just make two copies of each.

As others have stated (again and again) you DO NOT NEED the $335 fee. It is ONLY for people who are already married - NOT for K-1 Visas. You will pay those fees AFTER you are married and file for adjustment of status here in the U.S. All you need is the $100 Visa fee.

You DO NOT need the I-864 form. That is ONLY for adjustment of status. You ONLY need the I-134 form.

And, yes, you should do ALL the forms online. It is easier and neater that way. Why do you mention the 158? You don't need that one. All you need is 156, 156k, and 157.

You need to read this stuff over and over and over again to make sure everything is 100% accurate. Ask questions if you need to. When you click on "downloads" on the VJ site, it will list all the forms you need under the K-1 section.

is everyone else filling out the ds158? for some reason, i never thought we had to, but i see that ricardo needed it? also, what's the deal with the i-864? i had thought it was something we'd have to do as part of the aos process after he's here, not have it for the interview...can someone clarify?

You are correct  You do NOT need the ds158 or the I-864. At least someone around here is doing their homework :P

You may want to check Air Jamaica. They are having a special with really good rates if you leave on a Tues. or Wed. and stay at least 2 days.

I really wish we could but they don't fly out of Detroit :(

Thank you all for your well wishes regarding Tony's grandmother :luv: We're still kinda in limbo. He really wants to go down there but we don't have any extra money laying around. We weren't gonna go back to JA until summer or fall. We were just there less than 7 months ago. I told him HE has to make the decision - I can't decide for him. Unfortunately I am the one who always ends up paying for it :( I'll keep you guys updated.

Good luck to all the March 6 interviews  May tomorrow be your lucky day!!

Good Morning and good luck to the interviewees. Is any one else having trouble accessing their case status online? I get to the login page but can't go any further.
