Bad news: Tony's grandma just passed away :crying: He wants to go down there but we really can't afford it right now. I feel really bad. It's so hard having all his family sooooo far away :( If we hadn't just went to Barbados, we could probably do it, but I don't know what to do. The cheapest flight I could find was over $500 :o Please keep us and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Rhonda your family is in our thoughts a prayers.

I am very sorry to hear about Tony's loss. I can imagine how he is feeling. My grandfather in Michigan is dying of cancer, and I am expecting to get the call any day. It is heartbreaking....

You may want to check Air Jamaica. They are having a special with really good rates if you leave on a Tues. or Wed. and stay at least 2 days. It's like $239 roundtrip from Atlanta, not sure about Detroit. You all are in my prayers.

Rhonda....soooo sorry to hear about that!!!! both of you are in my thoughts....

Karin...wow...i'm sorry that happend to you....i think the embassy needs to not only send our SO a copy of the requirements paper but also the US citizen as well....because things change week to week there and what might have been for some of us may not be the same for others....there needs to be a basic sheet that clearly states what is need and how it needs to be filled out... when i went on my interview they were ONLY asking for 1 year of taxes....so i am not sure if they are still sticking to that or if they have gone back on the 3 year...also mike faxed me a copy of it...and on the paper it also includes visa's for the k-3 so some of the charges and things they ask are not for k-1...so just look over it carefully and double check with the USCIS and VisaJourney guides!!! wish you a fast interview!!!!!!!

ok i have a question....i want to get mike a sate id.... and i was looking at what is required in the state of Delaware...his i-94 has i guess "expired"the date was the 16th of February and on the dmv this is what it says

Record of Arrival and Departure (in a valid Foreign Passport)(I-94 or I-94W visa waiver program)

Record of Arrival and Departure w/attached photo stamped “Temporary Proof of Lawful Permanent Resident”(I-94)

i know this might sound dumb but do you think they just want to see he is here legelly or that we are past the date and need to wait for his work permit???? any thoughts would be great!!!

Okay.

We did NOT get the visa. We didnt even get in for an interview. They didnt let us past the first window. We messed up on some paperwork and now I am kicking myself and crying my eyes out. I cant write anymore now but I will when I get home so no one else makes the same mistakes. :(

Even though the instructions said we needed $335 for the interview, they never took any money from Jomo. We didn't need that $335 till we applied for permanent residency here.

Fill out the 157 online too.

I did not have the letter from the bank or employer notarized. I DID get all 3 years of my tax returns notarized.

Ok, I have some questions about the 156, 156K, 157, and DS230 forms for the interview...

There is a space there to add a prepared by name, would it look bad if I prepared the forms for Marlon to sign and include my information as the preparer?

I found a co-sponsor as according to the new poverty guidelines I fell about $600.00 short for 2006 but for the prior years 2003-2005 I made the 125% above the new poverty guidelines. To my understanding from reading the guides, we both need to submit I34 forms, bank letters, employer letters, and tax transcripts from the last 3 years. I have yet to file my 2006 taxes so will they accept 2003-2005 and my W2's for this year?

I called IRS yesterday to request my 2003-2005 tax transcripts and I told they lady that it was for wage verification, is that correct?

When I go to Jamaica next week I am taking Marlon the originals that I submitted for the I29F application as well as the letters he sent me and my birth certificate, hopefully I will get those back!

How many passport photos does Marlon need for the medical and interview?

Phew thanks and sorry for soooo many questions!

The Kingston Embassy has one letter for the Immigrant and Non-Immigrant Visas....that's why the whole issue of the $335 comes up. That DOES NOT apply to us. The fee is $100.00. I know it's confusing. It would be really nice if they would just change it and stop messing people up

Here's my experience.....<From December, 2005>

I filled out all my forms on-line -- I am ####### and wanted them to look good and hoped it would make it easier for the interviewer too.

You only need the I-134 -- the I-865 is for the "other" Visa's. BUT -- I filled one out and brought it with me just in case. I had the I-134 and the I-865 notarized -- included three years of tax returns with copies of the W-2 AND also ordered the Certified Tax Transcript from the IRS. <And, just in case -- I had a copy of my tax information going back to 1999 -- told you I was #######>

For my banking -- I copied a years worth of statements and highlighted my automatic deposits for my paycheck. Then I "ran a tape" to add all those deposits up to show that it matched with my employer letter. I then (in another color) highlighted any other deposits that were made into my account and also ran a tape for that. The woman at Window #2 looked at it and handed it all back to me.

My bank would only supply me with a NOTARIZED letter stating when my account was opened and how much I presently had in it. Window #2 lady took that and kept it.

I know things have changed -- they change everyday. The list that was just posted will help a lot of people -- I'm so sorry Karin that you guys had the problems that you did. Like people have said before me -- it's only a bump in the road. You did not get denied and will be together soon. (F)

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone is doing well

Good luck for all the March interviews!!! I can't believe how many there are.

FutureMrs...I tried to answer your questions...I went through the process a while ago but I believe this info is still accurate...

Ok, I have some questions about the 156, 156K, 157, and DS230 forms for the interview...

There is a space there to add a prepared by name, would it look bad if I prepared the forms for Marlon to sign and include my information as the preparer? I always said that I was the preparer...they never mentioned it or asked about it

I believe that would work. If your interview is after April 15 though they will want the tax return or proof you got an extension. I would just make sure that you have plenty of other documentation to prove your income for 2006

I called IRS yesterday to request my 2003-2005 tax transcripts and I told they lady that it was for wage verification, is that correct? Sounds good to me!

When I go to Jamaica next week I am taking Marlon the originals that I submitted for the I29F application as well as the letters he sent me and my birth certificate, hopefully I will get those back!
