I am starting to panic The medical appointment is on March 5 and packet #4 still has not arrived yet

It was sent out 15 days ago (or so they say) and still hasn't reach us It's starting to look like we may have to reschdule, which of course means the records won't be at the Embassy in time for the interview

I would like to first say I've been reading the posts in this forum for about 4 months. I nevered bothered registering, but felt like I was already apart of the family! I have celebrated with all of you as milestones were met, and felt your pain in attempting to get through to the Embassy on Mon. and Fri. between 1:30 and 3:30.... !!! So, I must say thank you to all for sharing your experiences. You will never know how many people just like me you are helping, because we haven't registered on the site, but we tune in daily or weekly to keep up with the events.

Thanks Anna and Darlene for the information on the drivers license. I will call the DMV when he gets here or we can walk over and see. The place is only a few blocks from here.

How is everyone doing? I joined the Dave Ramsey plan so I can really learn how to budget. Needing to get rid of credit cards and pay for everything in cash. Has anyone else tried his plan on budgeting and investing? Did your guys budget change once your SO's got here? What did u do to make it work? I am just getting so worried.

Do you guys have any good Jamaican meals you make from scratch that our cheap? How did your grocery budget do when they arrived?

While I totally agree paying in cash is the way to go, make sure you keep the credit cards open to build credit

I couldn't do it I charge EVERYTHING! I can't even remember the last time I had to go inside a gas station to pay CASH for my fuel I love pay at the pump!

I found out in I pay by cash at one gas station where I work I get 10 cents off the gallon! I won't be charging much any more I want to invest our money. Since we got married its been a lot hard to pay those silly cards off with the money it takes to get a visa. I use to love to charge everything to but I need a new way with him getting here.

So, this is my first post! As brief background, I filed the I-129F Petition for K1 late Aug.06 for my fiance. He is in Jamaica. We met in Ochi in Dec. 04, and knew we wanted to spend our lives together by July 06. It has been very difficult being apart, long phone conversations, and very high phone bills. He doesn't have access to the internet, so we are doing what we have to do until we can be together. I must say, the process has been pretty smooth for us (I'm sure its because of all the great advice I've gotten from this site). Our I-129F package was accepted and approved with no incident. However, I must say, once our package arrived at the Embassy in Kingston, there was an instant halt to the progress for a few weeks. We fell into that timeframe where they were moving, so although it was sent to Kingston at the beginning of Dec., there was no action again until the middle/end of January, and that was only because after several calls and not getting through, I finally left a heated message on someone's voicemail threatening to escalate until I got some answers. Surprisingly, my fiance got a call an hour later. Now, after more calling, on Friday (2/23/07) I got through to a live person and was told that our interview letter was sent on Feb. 12th (but my fiance never received it), and our interview is scheduled for March 27th! Long sigh of relief.... My finace is going to the embassy tomorrow to pick up the package that never arrived in the mail. So, I am in the process of organizing everything for the interview, and am so excited to finally know when I will see my honey again. We've been putting off plans for my visit because we were anticipating the interview.

I have celebrated with each of you who have received interview dates, and those of you who have successfully gotten through the interview. I have also come close to tears on some of the sadder news that has been shared. I must say, those of us that go through this process are very strong people, and we need to acknowledge that strength and perserverence in our character. If we can get through this, we can accomplish anything!

I look forward to sharing with you all as we continue our journey. If anyone that is just starting out needs any information or advice, I would be happy to share, as so many of you have shared with me. Good luck to all with interviews in the coming weeks! Stay focused on your love and know that all will be well.

Our case has just been transferred to the California Service Center and I see that they are up to August applications presently. Is this good or bad news? In anyone's experience..will we still be required to do an interview?

I just hate it when this happens.......I'm not so sure that rescheduling is an option -- he needs to get to the Embassy to pick up a copy of that letter......I would call, send e:mails, carrier pigeons whatever.......

Maybe.....if you can't get through to the Embassy (maybe) you can call the Doctor and see if they can be of any help to you.

I joined that coupon thingie that you posted -- The Grocery Game -- the problem is, the only grocery store that they do (by me) is Jewel (Roy works there and gets a 5% discount)....BUT....Jewel is still so much more expensive than other stores that it's just not worth it. I try to use coupons as often as possible but it has been really hard for me to try to "cut back." I am so used to buying whatever I want -- whenever I want. Now it's really different.

I have one credit card and (pre-Roy) that was all I ever used -- and I MUST pay it off every month -- that's the rule! Now, I try to use cash as often as I possibly can. I still pay the card off every month. Our house phone, his cell phone, the DirecTV....and a few other things are automatically billed to my Visa. Just with those things I know that every month I will have at least $300 on the card.

We do a lot of things at home -- don't go out much. Especially to eat. We save a TON of cash by doing that.

I don't think I could follow a "budget plan." I might pull my hair out.

Mike and i went to see Norbit last night...the truth don't waste 8 bucks wait till it comes out on DVD...it really was not that funny....it got old very fast....i saw people actually leave the theater....today we are going to try our luck on reno 911....i heard it is like borat...and we both liked that one...sooo....i hope it is good...i need a break from the paper work....

Hey you guys we had our medical last week. Sweetie said that they did not pressure him or ask him questions twice. Only once & he stated no. He went to Andrews Memorial. Cost was 205.00 US it didnt matter if he had US $ or JA money. They take both.

Stop, there is nothing in Packet #4 that you need to re schedule for. You just need your interview letter for the medical. Proceed with that. I will email you with the contents for Packet 4, I believe it is a duplicate for Packet 3. NO worries. OK>
