Has anyone considered moving when their SO got here? Here is our situation the house I own is taking 50 percent of my pay and we will never survive once he gets here. I am on a strict budget which leaves only 40 bucks for entertainment each month. He wants a car and wants to go to school. Seeing if he had a min wage job we still wouldn't make it. I have considered moving to a cheaper town and out of huskie town. I would miss my brothers here and my parents only live 1/2 hour away. But there is another town Rockford that is close to my work and we can get a house that is 50 thousand dollars cheaper. I thought it also might be nice if we looked for a home together that we both picked out. He says we aren't moving because I move too much. That part is true I have never lived in a place more than a 1year 1/2 but we can't afford it. The two of us on a teacher salary is going to be tough.

Any suggestions?

May it turn spring soon and the snow go away. Now I am sick of the snow and need a change.

Be careful out east in the storm.

I just called my mother in-law she said my hubby got his medical done last week. Hmm confused I thought he needed a appointment letter for an interview. Could he of done this? I know he knows people at MoBay Hospital. If he got this done now are we okay? He is going to Kingston finally on Wed to get police records. I wish he wasn't working in Sav La Mar so I could find this out. Has anyone got a medical without a letter? Hopeful Mom In Law was wrong.

I agree Anna. It's mostly Damien who is "showing off" - his friends and family didn't ask for much. Damien wanted to pay for everything. I think he toned it down our last trip...and he came home with most of his clothes. He was still talk of the town for months because how he so much gained weight and muscle....he works out almost every day...he friends and family were shocked.

I wish it was just showing off in our case! I think the people that get on my nerves the most are his baby's mama and one of his cousins. Last time we went down there we brought about $200 worth of clothes and shoes (probably more like $400 worth but I got everything on great sales at Kohls :P ) for his 2 kids and then spent another $200 in JA on school stuff that they needed. She still bitched that it wasn't good enough, she needs more money, rah, rah, rah :ranting: No thanks or appreciation for what we did do

And then one of Tony's cousins is always sponging off him and anyone else he can. He is perfectly capable of working but he never has a job - well, he had one once but he got fired because he stayed home 4 days in a row instead of going to work to watch the World Cup  He just lives with whichever baby's mama he likes the best at the time!! And he has 4 or 5 to choose from <_< So he's always asking for stuff and money.

How about taking in a lodger?

Otherwise, let him feel the constraints of surviving on a limited budget and bring it up after a few months of that...

no i dont think u can do that.the doctor i went in kingston wouldn't let a girl to take the medical without her letter.while she was there someone called to tell her they had received her package in the mail. They asked if they could fax the letter to the doctors office and thats the only way she could have her medical done.

He knows now that we are on a limited budget. We talked last night. My hubby doesn't want to move and I told him then he is going to stare at me a lot he said cool. Taking in a lodger wouldn't work because we only have one extra bedroom. I asked my brother to move in he is just graduating college this year but he signed his lease on his apartment already with his roomates. I will give hubby 2 months to see what I mean.

May it turn spring soon and the snow go away. Now I am sick of the snow and need a change.

Did he get the JA driver licence or the int'l one? I verified it w/the DMV last year here in Cook county and was told they can drive on the JA license for 90 days (I think). It was something like that and w/it you can apply for a license here w/o taking classes. My brother-in-law got his that way.
