You can't come a farrin an return home without lookin hot or you flop

 Very true. I'm trying to convince Damien to go home this July for the Sumfest but he said he doesn't have enough time or money to shop...HELLO, it was January

 It makes me so mad that everyone expects him to get rich overnight just because he moved to the U.S. EVERYONE wants something when we go back - even people he hardly knows :ranting: People we would run into on the street would want him to buy them a beer or just give them some money! Hello.... You weren't even friends when he lived in JA - go away <_<

I know the feeling but Rhonda sometimes it's just an impression. Like when someone say "beg a money or a likkle ting na" it doesn't mean anything just a figure of speech. They might see someone dressed nice and say something to that nature. Or when they say "beg a beer". My hubby is a kind person when we go out in JA he will buy a few round of drinks for everyone we're with. Some of my friends men do it here to it's like a nice gesture so no one feel left out. Don't take it to heart it's all love.

Can I ask about the packet 3 and 4? In one of the forums there is a sample interview packet, but it seems specific to the Poland Embassy. Is there a sample for Kingston or are the packets the same no matter which embassy?

What is packet 3 and what is packet 4? I thought there was only one pre-interview packet, with all of the documents that I have sent in (sealed) and the forms that need to be completed for the interview. :help:

No Visa yet :(

No major stunbling blocks ahead. Another physical is needed. Of course had they responded to my emails, we would have already had that taken care of. So she got the blue sheet, though it appears they are willing to try to get things taken care of before the police report expires in a month. So it's an email today telling them when her next physical is scheduled for. They were very quick in responding in Mobay. I was surprised. In the past I could never get through to them. The physical is Monday morning. Back to the emails and phone calls. I hope they can actually come through as promised.

:dance::dance::thumbs: congrats!!!!!1

Ericdrewry: I am sooo rooting for you guys! Almost there, keep your chins up!!!!

As for the question asked of where I will be staying, in Clarendon. The nearest city I think is May Pen. Hope I can at least do a couple of Visa transactions, perhaps Dunn's River Falls accepts Visa?

Stupid question:

If I take tuna and vienna sausages in cans, will they explode?

I will be with my honey in 2 weeks and 1 day!

Ok, I need to calm down now! lol

Hi Everyone!

FutureMrs...I stayed in May Pen extensively (in the Bushy Park Scheme) I was able to use my debit card (checking acct. but with a visa logo) at all the bank atms. I also stayed in an even smaller town Ewarton in St. Catherine and was able to find places to use my card. I think there was a small fee but not bad. I know for a fact that one place (can't remember the name) the fee was only 1% of your withdrawl. Definitely worth it in my opinion because I was staying for months at a time and didn't want to carry all that cash on me. Just make sure that you get out lumps of money and aren't going to the bank daily. I even found that some of the more progressive places in the city would accept my debit card when making purchases. Have fun! Oh and I am pretty sure the cans won't explode...only chance of that would be if they were aresol...and those wouldn't be.

So how is everyone else doing?

Hope that everything goes well for your wife at her physical Eric! You guys are so close and deserve it!

I haven't had a chance to read back all the posts but I noticed in another thread that SavanPhil is pregnant  Congrats!!!

Hello.... You weren't even friends when he lived in JA - go away <_<

I haven't experienced that when I go down. Sometimes I buy one round of beer for his friends but that was only the week of the wedding and all of us were doing that.

The only thing I got is the family my hubby lives with is that the mom wants me to find her a job up here cause she has a work visa. She also did this when my sister-inlaw was visiting.

I am just glad my hubby is only leaving his mom the only family member. So we shouldn't have to buy too much when we go down.

Have any of you guys had a problem with with your spouse not wanting to go back to Jamaica for the next four years ? My husband stated last night that he would not be traveling back to the Yard untill 2010. I love Jamaica I want to go to Negril next year since I have never been . Would it be totally wrong to go without him  .

Girl, dont argue. Not worth it. Go to another island, there are sooooo many to choose from. Besides that it would be nice to show him other cultures since he has lived in Jamaica most of his life. You can go to the US virgin islands, Mexico, Belize......Or shoot if he really wants a change take him skiing!!! Ha.

We made a pack that we would go back to JA every other Christmas. We decided our first trip as a couple will be disney world and we will explore the USA. We already have planned New York and Las Vegas in the future. There are many place you guys can go together than JA don't sweat it.

? Have any of you as couples discussed how you would take care of your spouses parent in Jamaica when they grow old and can't take care of themselves? I know many of your spouse come from large families but in our situation my husband is an only child. Were trying to figure out what the plan would be in the coming years if she got sick or something.

My mom is calling the Kingston Embassy today because of their wacko hours I don't have time to call with work. To bad I didn't live in the Eastern time zone.

Best luck Eric with the medical and visa process.

Congrats Savanaphil
