I think about retiring there all the time. I have my eyes on this small hotel I want to buy. I would love to run a small bed and breakfast. I am a teacher now so I dont want teach when I retire. I want something different. But I think the guys want to be here, not there! We've got few years to work on them though.

I am a weird? Am I rude? Have I offended anyone? Or am I just paranoid because our interview is one week away???

No, you're not weird  Just paranoid!! Tony would LOVE to move back to Jamaica  Neither one of us likes the cold weather. I'm really close to my family though - that's why I haven't moved somewhere warm. And I don't know what I would do for a job in JA. I don't think I could live there.

I'm going to have to come up with something :help: I don't want to drive all that way go straight to the interview and then drive all the way back. I get motion sickness if I ride in a car past 2 hours :crying: With all the twists, turns and bumps in the road there..... I'll be sick for sure :(

Take some Dramamine for motion sickness. It works! I almost got sick on the way back from the damn winding roads and Tony's crazy Jamaican cousin driving :dead:

My sister is well (thanks Michelle for the email)! She went home yesterday.

That is so wonderful....congratulations (F)

Next Sunday I am flying into Kingston and we will be staying at the Hilton for three nights. I hope that the interview is worth the cost!
It will be worth it. I love the Hilton -- it's my "home away from home" Make sure you get a room by the pool.

Thanks, I will ask for one!

some quick advice to all of those with upcoming interviews....i HIGHLY HIGHLY recomend you stay in kingston because trust me it will put some of your worries to rest!!!
I 100% agree with Shauna. We stayed at the Hilton and were just around the corner. Come hell or high water we were going to get to the Embassy that morning. You never know what is going to happen -- weather, car trouble -- you MUST be there at the scheduled time....they don't accept any excuse for being late. Don't go all that way, get everything together and get your hopes up just to have them dashed because you got run off the road by some jerk and the car is stuck in the mud. They are not going to reschedule you for the next day just because you are there -- you go back to the end of the scheduling line. The interview is just too important to play with.....
My question is would any of you guys think about moving back to JA for retirement?
I think I would really like to. Roy wants to "build on" to his brothers house in Old Harbor. We'll see.....
Weird Paranoid Question: You guys always write to me when I have a problem or a question and give me great advice and I am grateful. I have made a few friends and we Pm each other but no one seems to write back to me when I write here just generally. I am a weird? Am I rude? Have I offended anyone? Or am I just paranoid because our interview is one week away???
Ha, Ha....you're just being paranoid.....stopi it!! (L)
My employment worries are over. I start a new job on March 1
Congratulations!!

Thanks for the kind words! I guess I'l settle for just being Paranoid

I dont have any real family so that's why Ive thought about it. I think that if we had enough US dollars we could easily start up some kind of business but I dont think I could there there full time either. I want the best of both worlds, a vacation place there and a place here. So we could come and go as we please! I can dream cant I!!

Looking for a calling card plan that is reasonable and logs all calls made?

http://www.ringyard.com

You get a free 10 minute card to try out service - I just tried and the call was clear and I got through instantly!

.10 to cell and .10 to landine!

Thanks Jonesie :D We just got our free 10 min. and after using them, we bought a $20 card. It seems to work great!!

I just told Henry about it and we will try it. I am so tired to him ranting that each calling card that he buys is "run by sheer 'tiefs'! And dem a rob people day and night."
