Good morning everyone!

I am putting the finishing touches on our AOS packet. Can I use the same wording in my employer letter I sent to Kingston? And are the checks made out to US Citizenship and Immigration Services?

As always, many thanks.

I will be asking for advice one I get everything together and give a run down of the order of the packet before I send it off.

WE ARE DONE!!!

Well, as you guys know we had an interview scheduled for Thursday, Feb 1 @ 12:15pm. We arrived at the Embassy at 11:45 and was ushered in at 12pm. Did the security check and was sent to the immigrant visa section.

The only thing that turned me off at the embassy was the way in which some of the Jamaican women treated us. They were downright RUDE, which was totally uncalled for. The irony of the situation is that the Americans treated us with much more respect, go figure.

The interview process was a little nerve racking, we were interviewed separately in a private room (Thank the Lord). Because with those windows and mikes you can an hearful. Some not so pleasant \o/ The lady who interviewed us was very nice to us. She asked us questions such as how we met, how many times I visited, when we got married, where we got married. She asked my husband where I lived, my mom's name. who filed for me, what I did for a living etc. Since my hubby and I were together the night before she asked us what time my plane came in, if he picked me up. what we had for dinner, what I wore to bed....

She also asked if I knew his number which I did, at this point I tried to have a normal conversation with her. She said our wedding pictures were beautiful. She didn't even ask for proof of the relationship, the lady was really really nice I can't stress that anymore.

After the brief conversation with her she told me to get my husband, and she told us to stop being nervous our visa has been approved. Then my husband burst out, I can get my son now!! and kissed me (L)

We were the first ones to walk out with our visa and went over to airpack where they told us that the passport and supporting documentation would be sent to us in 5-10 business days. We got the package in 1 business day :D

Our plan was to have my hubby travel a week after I left, but when we got the voicemail message on Monday night, I was still deciding if he should wait until the following week or come with me Wednesday....lets just say after Monday night I didn't need to think about it anymore  I woke up called Air JA and they had available seats. We booked the ticket and left. His family and friends are still in shock....my friends are screaming their lungs out and the my sister's 21month old baby has stuck to him like glue, he can't even hug me without her frowning even though she just met him yesterday and I cannot believe he is at home in our bed watching TV. \o/ *sigh*

He is a barber by trade, and he has ton of friends in NY. Let him watch TV one day he's going to wish he has the opportunity to do so.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT VISA JOURNEY!!!!!!!

Trying to contact the embassy is such a pain  I've been calling them for 2 hours!!! I guess they decided not to answer any phone calls today. My guess is they probably were sitting right there just letting them ring  I never got a busy signal each call went thru to the main menu, once I pushed 1-3-3, I kept getting the voice mail box saying to leave a message  Like they are really going to call back. Even when I tried to reach the operator, I got the voice mail saying they weren't taking any messages!!!

Did I miss something??? Is today some type of Holiday? Or are they just ignoring the phones :devil:

This waiting game is enough to drive a person CRAZY

Oh well I guess I'll try it again on Monday :crying::crying:

I have to tell you this has been an awesome week.

Tuesday we bought Bert a car. We had been looking for a few weeks and he spotted this one on a day I let him drive me to work so and not be stuck in the house all day. It's a 96 Chrylser Cirrus. It is in good shape and seems to run good. Price was not bad either.

Thursday evening we went to register it and they let us do it without him having a Social Security number. Go figure. It went smoothly which is unusual at the RMV. :) At least we can practice for the road test in his car as my is a standard. Even though he has not problem driving it I know he would get nervous with a cop sitting next to him so why risk it. In a couple of weeks he will go for his permit and then road test.

Today he received his social security card in the mail... :):)

I have mailed out the AOS and EAD today. ;) What a weight off my shoulders....

He should be starting his job in two weeks. Next week we are going to North Carolina to stay with my girlfriend for 5 days.

My credit cards are screaming for relief but as the say "SOON COME"!!! LOL

Thing are going well for us. :luv: We are getting comfortable with each other and getting use to our "quirks" and working through them. He is freezing but has been good about the heat. At least while I am home. Who knows what goes on while I am at work.

I hope all is well with everyone.

TGIF although I am working this weekend....

WE ARE DONE!!!
