If I didn't think the Embassy was Evil and incompetant before today, I DO NOW!!! After being told on Friday that my husband's case had been canceled and then calling back and having another women say they found it, but no Visa's had been issued.... TODAY, I call and was told the Visa's were issued on the 19th and he should have them by now. When I said he didn't and ask how to track them down, I was put on hold for 10 minutes and when she came back, she said Airpak would be picking them up from the Embassy tomorrow and he'd have on Weds! I'm so mad!! He could have flown home yesterday if someone had been doing there job!! Since I've gotten 3 different answers with 3 different calls we are waiting until we know Airpak has both Visa's before rebooking our flight. OH and on top of it all, my husband calls the Embassy this afternoon too and they refused to give him any information without his case number! That's pretty funny considering they've never asked me for our case number just his name, and they have NEVER asked me to verify who I am. The whole process is a joke. The worst part is I wanted to cuss them out, yet I don't dare until I have those Visa's in hand.

Oh'well, I did send two of my Congressmen emails regarding all the problems I've had with the Embassy. Maybe if they get enough complaints they will start looking into it.

Hope every one is having a great day!!

And Congrats to everyone who received Interview Dates!!

been there done that got the t-shirt......things need to change w/ the embassy......

Hey everyone! I just wanted to drop in and check to see how you guys were doing...I've been catching up on what's been going on, and I mainly want to say to Denden that no one here is without fault, therefore no one here can judge. As long as you continue to ask the Lord for guidance, wisdom, and strength--then His will will be done! I will be praying for you that you are able to accept the plans that God makes for you, no matter what they will be. And Eric--congratulations on the interview date...I'm sure that everything will be fine. Keep us posted! I should be coming in here more often--this was such a great place to get things off my chest that were bothering me...I had an impromptu counseling session with one of my clinical supervisors which helped alot really, so I'm thinking of maybe using our EAP program at work...who knows...there's just so much to do and so little time...

BTW, I have been trying to contact Sen. Mikulski for several weeks, but to no avail...I faxed her the details of my case (just to see if there was anything that could be done), but I've yet to hear from her. I've called a couple of times, but I haven't received a response. I did initially send her an email, and that's when she told me to fax her the information regarding the case which is what I did...and to think I helped to put her in office!! sheesh  Other than that things have been ok with me...it has actually been a little easier planning a wedding in Ja then planning one here...My best friend, goddaughter and I are going down next month to meet with the wedding coordinator and see what's available, etc...so I'm excited about that...and surprisingly, so is my fiance--although he's been driving me nuts because he SWEARS that he is not going to wear shoes! I was like BOOMBACLOT!! You will put those crusty Jamaican feet in some shoes!! lol... :help: that will be our battle!!! But I WILL WIN!!:yes: I have also recently been put on medication for hypertension, but that has been years in the making so I can't rightly blame all of this process on that...That's about all that's new for me...I wish everyone luck on their upcoming interviews

Peace and Love

Tamisha

Can you try contacting another senator in your state? Usually they will have someone in the office there to help you. Hastart's office in IL had 4 people working for him and 2 new the visa process.

Sorry to hear that. How long have you been with them? Are they offering any placement services? If you were closer to the MA border where I work always has lots of jobs.

I wish you all the luck in finding something good.

I've been with them since my last layoff nearly four years ago. That's the nature of the business I guess(banking and finance).

They are not offering anything-no severence-no placement services-NOTHING.

I live about 35 miles south of Springfield. Before I moved last summer-my commute was a little over 30 miles one way- so I'm willing to travel if I have to. I'll keep MA is mind when I start looking. Thanks.

Wow-a surprise wedding- I like that idea. It takes all the pressure off you-then you can be like some men and just show up ;)

All kidding aside, I'm sure it will turn out nice.

Thanks Kelly.-I've actually always wanted to work in the travel industry because of my love for travel, history and culture but wasn't quite sure if I could make a decent living at it. One of my very good friends is an agent and she says that her commisisions have been cut to the bone in recent years(airlines etc). I would love to do something that I really love at this point in my life.

I used to temp years ago; but it doesn't seem as popular here like it used to be. But since I'm the only one in my household I will do whatever I have to do.

Me too!

I want to thank all for their support and well wishes for our upcoming interview. They say third times a charm. My biggest fear is that the embassy through their irrisponsable handling of so many of our loved ones visas, they will find some way of screwing things up.

They can't question the relationship, I've got 4 1/2 years of pictures, and 9 passport stamps in the last 2 1/2 years. Then there are the tatoos.

I suspect I am possible the first on the forum to attempt to get a visa after the 3 year bar has ended. I pray that the way things turn out next month will provide some hope to the many others who have also been unjustly denied their rightful future.

A few days ago we had the pleasure of being addressed by our fearless leader, who again argues for immigration reform. Yes it is needed, I believe the first step would be to fire everyone in Kingston.

We now have presidential candidates who have admitted to smoking Ganga, do we have to elect him to provide reform.

Sorry for the rant, I only have 3 weeks left god willing, but I fear it is going to be tjhe longest 3 weeks in my life.

Good luck to everyone on their upcoming dates, and remember... Lie... Lie... Lie.

I realized that I am an idiot and made my check out to California Service Center rather than Department of Homeland Security! :crying: Please tell me I am okay?

Also I am confused about my W2's:

In the section that states Social Security Wages the amount is higher than the amount in Wages, tips, and other allocations, do I use the upper number? If that is the case I made around $240.00 more than the 125% poverty amount, I hope I won't need a co-sponsor? :help:

How did Tony compare it to Jamaica? Barbados is absolutely beautiful.

We both thought it was similar to Jamaica - except for the prices!! Barbados is so much more expensive than JA. The people there were all very nice and friendly. We went to a "yard party" and saw Tony Matterhorn perform!! It was just like being at a club/ party in Jamaica. As usual, I was one of the only white people there  It was mostly all locals, not many tourists.

It appears that understaffing at our consulates have actually gotten some air time on the news. Sparked by the drop in foreign travellers to the US, due to the difficulty of getting Visa's. The US travel industry is starting to stir things up. It won't affect any of us. But who knows what results they may eventually have. Money talks.

Good morning everyone.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much." - Mother Theresa
