And that is why I won't have my wife working there. In my opinion the pay isn't worth her time.

It's just not worth it......not worth it at all.....

i just recieved my package and i need help. they are asking for US $335 for application fee i don't understand what that is for. They need the I-864 form and i don't have it.

I am guesing you are going the I130 route, CR-1, there is a fee for the Affidavit of support I-864, and the DS-230, that based on last years procedures, NVC sends you a bill, you pay it, and they send you the forms. There is also a security fee as well included in there somewhere. I believe I have them listed in my signiture.

yes that's the route i am going.my husband got all those bills and paid them so do i need to pay it again. on the check list they sent me they ask for the I-864 form but i dont have it.Can my husband redo one and have it notarized and send it to me?

Once he paid the I-864 bill he should have received the forms, they should then be completed and kept until the day of the interview, and submitted then. I suspect your husband has the forms, just didn't realize you need them.

Is he going to the interview?

Sorry it's been a year. If he has a copy you should have him send you one, but they (NVC) will send it to the embassy, and they (KNG) should have it. It is good to have with you in case. Though I suspect if the one from the NVC did not arrive it would still cause a delay even if you have your copy.

I agree Lovelyjodie. You should have your husband redo one and send it to you. It's better to have it just in case then not having it at all.

One more question before I leave can I request a date for my interview? I was hoping that my interview could be around March 26 through March 30th. I have that week off for Spring break. Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks,

Jax

I tried to do that last year with little luck. What I got was a date 2 days after the range I asked for. I was in Kingston for business. I ended up requesting a vacation so I could stay on the island a few extra days. My boss decided he'd rather have me working in Kingston than on vacation, so I got to stay for the interview.

Well the embassy is now late in responding to my senator.

You know I wonder if those people at the embassy are jealous that they can't migrate. :protest:

I tried a month ago by emailing them etc. They gave me a month later!!! Oh well. At least I tried. They are truly a month behind though in their interview dates.

I have to say that from what I could see, everything looked pretty neat and tidy when I was there!! I think there is something in their job descriptions that says they have to be okay with making peoples lives as difficult and as stressful as possible!

For those of you with upcoming interviews I wish you the best of Luck!! As you know, my husbands Visa was approved on the 11th of Jan. and as of today he still hasn't received it in hand. :crying: So for anyone planning on going to the interview and flying back with them you might want to stay for at least 2 weeks. I was scheduled to fly down tomorrow night and fly back with them on Sunday but now it looks like I get to join the masses tomorrow and try to call the Embassy during the whole 2 hours they give us to call, and then hope I get someone who can answer some questions!! And I get to change flights and support the US Economy by giving the airlines more money. This whole process has been very stressful but this part of it is flat out ridiculous! Why tell people you'll have the Visa's in hand in approx. 5 days. To me this means 3 to 7 days. Wouldn't you want to tell them 10+ days, then we'd all be excited if we got them earlier then that and not being calling tying up the phone lines? Sorry I'm venting. I feel really helpless! You can't call and they refuse to answer any of my emails... where does that leave me. :crying::angry:

Maybe something happened to our Visa's and we're a minority in it taking so long but wanted to give everyone with upcoming interviews a heads up.

With any luck, god will take pity on me and all this stress and we'll get them tomorrow!! :innocent:

Best of luck to everyone!!

Timeline

Rachelle

They are truly a month behind though in their interview dates.

They have to unpack  Can you just imagine the mess they have there???? Maybe now (okay, after they get caught up) things might go smoothly.......a girl can dream, can't she? :energetic:

I have to say that from what I could see, everything looked pretty neat and tidy when I was there!! I think there is something in their job descriptions that says they have to be okay with making peoples lives as difficult and as stressful as possible!

they think the more stressful they make it the more likely it is for them to catch a fraud

Maybe. But I can't imagine dealing with someone like me, who's in the mood I'm in!! LOL

Rachelle,

Look at it this way. You are way ahead of ME!! At least you HAD the interview, GOT approved, now its just a little more of a wait. But DO call them tomorrow. Thanks for your words. Everything everyone shares is soo helpful. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Soon come.
