Good morning...
For savings I threw pardna every week
Roy just explained that to me -- it was more painful than getting my wisdom teeth pulled with no drugs. Next time I need to have him stick to 50 words or less
What's a pardna?
Let me see if I can describe this well..it's like a savings but you receive a lump sum at once.

Thank you, Anna. That was basically what Roy said -- but his hurt :bonk: so much more   It's great that you have an "in" with the banker. From what Roy said, the waiting is the hardest part -- especially if you really need the $$$ now

If you are the "new" person then the wait can be forever because most times you will get the last draw but sometimes you can talk to the banker to get a early draw. Some is considerate but some is strictly by the book. It really helps if you're saving toward a goal.

It is snowing here in Texas. Cold 26 degrees. Whats the weather like where you are?

Yeah, I saw it on TV!! DId you get a lot of ice too? That's worse than snow. It's cold here too - but it's always cold in Michigan in January :hehe: It's about 15 degrees at night and highs in the mid-20's to low 30's.

We are so not used to the super cold here. People cant drive, schools shut down. Ridiculous. We are suppose to get another spurt of your temps tonight too.

I am impatient, I know and my husband isn't as antsy about it as I am, but I cannot get the consulate to respond to ANY of my emails... It's as if they are ignoring them... When I call they say "just email and we'll respond" but they never have and I've given them days time to answer. In fact when I called last Friday, I spoke with a girl and she checked the email while I was on the phone... I'm just anxious and the waiting is annoying to me... They've had my case for going on a month next week, it hasn't taken anyone else that long to get a date.

Seems like many of us are in the same time frame. I am K-1 though. My Approval notice expires 3/13. Does anyone know what happens if the Embassy doesnt interview by that date?

I had to call the Embassy with the same question in my case and they said as long as the interview is scheduled by the expiration date you are okay, even if the interview is after it expires. You still have 2 months so you should be fine.

:help:

Hello to all,

I have a few questions... I will spend some time trying to research the answers myself, but I could use a little help from you - the veterans.

First of all..Am I the only female, Jamaican beneficiary who uses this forum? It seems that way.

Here are my questions:

1) Where do I find my 'A' number?

2) Is there anyone here who sent their AOS, EAD and AP at the same time to the Chicago lockbox? If so, how was the EAD handled from there? Did you then have to go to your local USCIS office to do follow-ups?

3) Question 16 on the I-765 asks for an Eligibility Category. Since I am sending the EAD in with the AOS at the same time...is my category then (a) (6) ... If make an mistake here, will the application be rejected?

4) Will I be better off waiting until I get a receipt notice from my AOS application and then applying for the EAD at the local office here in Vermont under category © (9)?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

M.

P.S. Re Partners....I usually avoid them unless I am getting a very early draw. There's always some fool who tries to take the money and run and I don't want to have to hurt someone  for my hard-earned money. That's my 2 cents.

1. The "A" number (Alien Registration Number) will be on your NOA1 and/or NOA2. Roy's was also hand written in his Passport above his Visa.

2. We sent just the AOS and EAD to the Chicago Lockbox -- <I believe> that is where EVERYONE sends it. From there, Chicago sends it somewhere for processing (not sure anyone on VJ has ever really figured out what happens to the files ) We went to our "satellite" office (not sure what the technical term is) for the Biometrics for the AOS and EAD. Since Chicago is our "Local Office," if we had an interview we would have gone there.

3. I would need to go home and check what I put on the application (I remember I was so confused on that question). I can do that if you want. If you make a mistake you will get a RFE. You will have to fix the problem and re-submit. It will just eat up more time.

4. I kinda understand what you are asking but without having the forms I don't know. I have a feeling that what you are asking would not work...and/or save you any time or money. Me personally, I don't think I have heard of anyone waiting and then filing for the EAD at their local office. Have you asked this question in the EAD forum?

I hope I was able to help a bit....and not confuse you more.

Thanks a mil,

I was doing some reading int he FAQ section. I saw that I should file them all together as you said  and that the category for the EAD is in fact ( c ) ( 9). Thanks for info on this mysterious 'A' number. I'm just waiting for our marriage certificate and then we'll send everything off.

Bye for now!
