I am impatient, I know and my husband isn't as antsy about it as I am, but I cannot get the consulate to respond to ANY of my emails... It's as if they are ignoring them... When I call they say "just email and we'll respond" but they never have and I've given them days time to answer. In fact when I called last Friday, I spoke with a girl and she checked the email while I was on the phone... I'm just anxious and the waiting is annoying to me... They've had my case for going on a month next week, it hasn't taken anyone else that long to get a date.

For savings I threw pardna every week

Roy just explained that to me -- it was more painful than getting my wisdom teeth pulled with no drugs. Next time I need to have him stick to 50 words or less :lol:

What's a pardna?

Let me see if I can describe this well..it's like a savings but you receive a lump sum at once. It's when a # of ppl come together and put in a certain amount per week (aka a "hand") and depending on how much your throw (put in), # of ppl, & # of weeks you will get a cash pot (your draw). My entire family and a lot of my friends do it. I also know Haitians do it as well but I think they call it "sous". It varies some pot can be as much as $10,000 per hand. For ie...I used to throw $200 a week and recv'd $5000 for my draw. I used it as a down payment on my car. Now I'm in another pardna to help w/my immgration costs and our wedding later this year and b/c my mother is the banker I can get my money anytime I want.

I know it sounds a little confusing but it's not. Once you get the hang of it it's great.

Girl you are NOT the only one. Atleast you got through to a person last Friday. I called every few seconds for an hour and was never able to reach a person. I even thought that they were closed!!!! The embassy writes back to me when they feel like it which is almost never. :angry: We have been waiting for a date since November and when I do talk to someone or get an email back they keep saying next month, next month. The waiting IS the worst part. That's one of the reasons we are all writing to each other here. Just trying to make sense of it all and to try to figure out how they make their decisions. Since the move in December there has been little or not action on their part. Hang in there and write whenever you need to!

Hey Jill -- It's basically "pumped-up" carrot juice. He takes carrots (that he boils until soft then puts in the blender), Supligen (Ensure-Vanilla), Irish Moss (in the can - it's a "energy" drink that we get at the Jamaican store -- I'm not quite sure what to compare it to as a U.S. product -- it's pretty gross), condensed milk, vanilla and nutmeg powder -- that is the basic juice that the dog gets. Roy then adds a can of Guiness to his.

That sounds absolutely disgusting!!! I'm surprised the dog even drinks it Tony drinks Irish Moss, Supligen/Ensure, and Guiness, but all of it seperately. I've never seen him mix them up. He also eats partly raw eggs sometimes Nasty!!!

It is snowing here in Texas. Cold 26 degrees. Whats the weather like where you are?

Yeah, I saw it on TV!! DId you get a lot of ice too? That's worse than snow. It's cold here too - but it's always cold in Michigan in January It's about 15 degrees at night and highs in the mid-20's to low 30's.

The dogs can stay in the house just not in the room he sleeps in. Still haven't broke the news to my dog. She's really not going to like that one. She's slept on my bed since she was a puppy.

I have sent packet #3 to my fiancee thru DHL, it got there yesturday but they haven't contacted him to come pick it up yet.

I am hoping he goes to get it today, I want him to drop off the DS230 tomorrow when he goes to get packet #3. I am trying to save him the trip of having to go back to Kingston to drop it off. I guess I'm gonna have to put some fire under his feet to make him put a move on it

Ricardo, be strong. Your case seems like it is a nightmare. Very, very frustrating.

Sonshyne, why are these guys in a non urgent pace? I noticed that with my sweetie too. I keep telling him to send me cards or whatever for proof of evidence - relationship & he is taking his sweet time!!! He keeps saying, you being here will be proof enough. They dont understand how detailed we have to be & how much stuff we have to have to even get close to an approval. Gosh!!!!!

Thank you, Anna. That was basically what Roy said -- but his hurt so much more :lol: It's great that you have an "in" with the banker. From what Roy said, the waiting is the hardest part -- especially if you really need the $$$ now
