Hi Everyone!

First off, just wishing all of you the best in this new year.

I had a question - my cell phone bills have skyrocketed since the start of my relationship, lol. :help:

Does anyone know of any alternative (CHEAP) ways to call JA?

Re: The sad face

This is Mars, the Jamaican fiancee, I guess there will be days in the beginning that won't be easy for either of us. Jay tries his best but gets moody at times when I can't understand why. At those times I wonder if we should have waited a while longer before making such a big move. Then I look outside and see the ice and snow and I start missing home.

Anyway, we had a talk last night and we understand each other a bit better and have agreed to talk about our feelings instead of each going to a separate corner of the house. I love him dearly and I know without a doubt that he loves me. We just have never been under the same roof for more than a week at a time and each have been alone and independent for too long.

Can anyone relate?

Mars.

\

Hi

I certainly can relate to your situation. Girl I understand how you are feeling, I cried myself to sleep sometimes when I just came .You are going to miss home but with time things will get better. Just try and keep the communication live with your fiancee. I had lived with my fiancee for almost 3 years in Jamdown and it is still an adjustment for me here. Just be patient and hold thight my Girl as we would say in JA.

He is from Ocho Rios and works at a resort there.

Welcome to the Yardie thread. What resort does your man work at? My hubby is from Ochi and I've stayed there almost every time I've been to Jamaica.

My fiance works at Couples Sans Souci

Thanks. I've never stayed there but hear it's really nice. When I was going to Jamaica ALL the time, I was on a major budget so just stayed somewhere cheap  Have you ever stayed there?

I still have one major concern that worries me everyday... It is the proof of phone calls. I have gotten a print out from the calling card co. that I use... but it only shows the last 6 months :crying: I am very worried that this may not be enough.

You will be fine. 6 months worth is a LOT! Me and Tony only KNEW each other for 6 months when we filed :D - some people are less than that. It sounds like you have plenty of "proof". Do you have pics of the two of you? That's a big plus.

Marilyn,

It will get better!!! My first two weeks with Verton were stressfull!!!! Like you and Jay we had never spent more than a week together. Hope you still have my # . Hope you have an American cell phone call me!!

I vent with Shamanya often and it helps. You have to pick what battles are worth fighting. LOVE YA

Good morning family.

The adjustment stage takes lots of time, patience and prayer. Talking to others in the same situation really helps. I have a wonderful support group (others K1 couples)...don't know where I would be without them.

I have only stayed at both Couples Resorts and Sunset Jamaica Grande. I'm a T.A. so my trips are cheap!
