Hi Ladies,

I had the most unbelievable day!!! I am soooooooo sick of the snow it aint' even funny and today is just the first day. Well first I got up and realized that tons of schools were closed so I wasn't sure about my daughter's. THen I went outside and I fell right there in the snow w/a whole basket of laundry in my hands....then my car trunk wouldn't open w/the trunk opener so I decided to use my key like a big idiot and the key got bent. THEN I couldn't get the car to start w/the same bent key. I swear I thought I was going to lose it out there so FINALLY after trying to unbend the key it finally started. Well at this time it was 8:15 so I cld my supervisor and told her I was going to be late. So after all the shoveling snow off my car and I finally was ready to get going but nope....not for me...the car was stuck. Talking about being heated!!!!!! Mind you I have been soooooooo stress lately w/some other problems that this was the last straw I said F it I'm not going to work then some man came along and helped me out.

By this time I was thinking everything was cool so I got to work around 9:30 just to find out the darn parking lot was ployed so I got stuck AGAIN!!!! I was cussing the whole place down, so I finally just gave up and left the car right there in the middle of the lot sideways. I was fed up at that point and couldn't do anymore. Well I made it to my cube just to be told we can leave. I was pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COudln't beleive that I had to go thru all that just to be told to go back home......

I'm at my mother's right now doing laundry and once I'm done and I'm going home to chill b/c I need a break. THis has been the worse day and the snow is still falling. Man, I hate winter!!!!!

Sonshyne: I am in the same boat as you. My cell phone provider was Cricket but I spoke to customer service and they told me I could request a copy of international long distance calls for $5.00. I will try and let you know if this works. There is ALWAYS a solution, just keep bugging your provider and explain to them what and why you need something! I just recently switched to T-mobile and now I have lists of text messages sent to Marlon and calls I make. The only thing that sucks is that I pay $1.09 per minute :( But, it will all be worth it when he is finally here with me :P So good luck and don't get discouraged or overwhelmed!

To those waiting to be touched etc., hang in there, my thoughts and prayers are with everyone!

Bye for now, until next week!

I had Sprint and I was just paying 34 cents a min to JA b/c I had the int'l plan and only paid $4.99 a month but now I have switched to T-Mobile and everyday I'm missing Sprint more and more. Does it cost more to text him? What about if you have a text package?

It sounds like you had one heck of a start to your day  I hope it ends better than it began. It sounds like you need a calgon bath and a warm fire

I've been listening to the news and reading the posts... It sounds like you guys are in for plenty of snow  I say to those of you who don't like the snow... Let's get on the plane and go to Jamaica where the climate is warm and welcoming  To those of you who like it... enjoy

Sorry Anna to hear all your trouble with the snow storm. We had 15 inches were I live today but now the sun is out. Why didn't someone at work tell you thats crazy.

I don't think anyone knew. Remember I work at Walgreens and they never close... A lot of ppl cld in but I only have a few vacation days left and I'm using them around X-mas to spend the break w/my daughter. Not only that I have been putting in some serious OT and I was not about to let one day change that to regular pay. I need all the loot I can get w/this whole immigration process....

Yeah I didn't remember. I understand with all the fees with have to pay for the CR1. We have to get all of the big fees done and over with before our men even arrive. I am like you I teach the after school tutoring program for extra cash.

I hope you have a better weekend!

There's already damage reports with trees uprooted and power outages about 20 miles west and north of me, but the storm is weakening and moving fast; thankfully. I lost my power for a few minutes but it's back on (obviously  ). It has been so warm and now this winter storm is coming in for Monday resulting in this crazy weather we are having tonight.

Well enough of the weather forecasts :hehe:

Everyone have a good evening and great weekend.

Wow Anna what a day for you  . I hope you have a better weekend.

And hopefully everyone can recover from the storms. Jamie I hope you get dug out soon.

I have to go shopping tomorrow for winter preparedness. Stock up the cabinets in the house and get snacks and water for the car in case I get stranded. I also pack an overnight bag for those really bad storms since there are hotels down the street from work. At work they rarely let us go home early, and one day last year they offered some of us free hotel rooms for the night. I guess they are so scared to loose one lousy penny. Funny thing is like Anna- my job has zero customer contact but because we work in the same building as customer service and collections they won't let us (loan administration) go home because the other departments have to stay. I wish I worked in the school district; I would love to have all those snow days too.

Hey Shemanya my birthday is this month too  .

Yea it was a bad morning but everything is alright now. The streets have been cleared the weather has been dropping and I hear it's going to be a good weekend. I work in the Tax Dept at the Walgreens Corp office and we also don't deal w/customers but their philosophy is "if the stores are open then we must be as well". Whatever, I don't even deal w/the stores..... Their just penny pinchers....

Hey Shauna-glad to hear Mike is adjusting well. Going to the malls should be interesting; you can't even find parking at the local mall here; that is unless you use the valet parking that they offer ($$$)

DenDen I hope you hear something soon. It's ridiculous that they are taking that much time

Roy is sad that we hardly got any snow......it's so funny -- I was really worried how he was going to react to the snow and the cold and he LOVES it. He keeps watching the news to see when we are suppose to get more (Tuesday) -- but it's just suppose to be a "dusting." I will have to take a picture of him in his "Nanook" hat....not your typical Jamaican

Shauna -- Can't wait to hear about your shopping experience. Roy still gets a bit "taken back" when we go to the big malls. He doesn't say anything but I can tell (sometimes) by the look in his eyes.

Hope everyone has a safe (and warm) weekend!!

Hello FutureMrs

1. If you cannot be there for his interview, make sure he is overprepared. I didn't attend but I sent hubby a 5+ pound binder (with a color indexed table of contents with matching dividers to match the colors on TOC - yes I know #######), and before the interview call him and spend time with him going over the sections so come interview date he knows where everything is and can be located when the interviewer asks for something.

2. Yes, he can fly through NY for stamp and you can either get a separate ticket for him to come to AZ or find a route that has a layover in NY. And yes, he can visit his father while in NY.

3. We had 12 passport photos  - again better to be overprepared (he paid about $200JA for all of them).

4. EAD and AOS (lumped in with postal service fees) cost us about $700.00. We didn't apply for advance parole travel so that saved us some money. Because our AOS interview was local, we didn't have any travel costs. Getting the medical supplement was only $35.00 - start searching the board NOW for low-cost doctors to do this for you - this will be one less headache for you later.

Phew! Thank you so much! I guess you can say that I have the "pre-K1 Visa jitters"! As far as ####### goes, I am usually well prepared when it comes to presentation! You should see my ENG102 term paper on the pyramids of Giza and how the stars in the belt of Orion match up, it even had transparencies on top! lol A couple more questions if you do not mind:

How will I know where the AOS interview will be?

What is the medical supplement, is it aside from the medical exam Marlon will receive in Kingston?

Again, thanks so much, I really appreciate this site and the people, I don't feel so alone!

Oh and Nanny:

The whole time I was in Jamaica and eating patties, fried chicken & "peas & rice", I was yearning for a burger and fries. When Marlon took me to Ochi, he bought be Burger King and that Whopper was the best I have EVER had in my life! :o I came back here and the first thing I did was get a Whopper, sadly it just wasn't the same :crying: lol

just saw this post...yes the buger king in ochi is very good!!!! one time mike and i stayed at sandcastles there and we went to burger king all the time....

well it is finally in the 30's mike went outside with just a zipper up sweatshirt and came running back....:lol: it was just toooooo cute for words....we are off to a craft show first then the mall wish us luck that i don't come back home with a frozen Jamaican

My case has finally been touched after 3 months of nothing. Now I have another question for you all... How do I know if it's just been touched, or if it's now ready to be forwarded to NVC

I have checked the box for USICS to e-mail me of any changes etc.. But did not receive one when the case was touched. I just so happened to check it.

I wish I had found the web site before I paid for help to get this process done. I e-mailed the person doing the paper work for me and told her that the date had changed, and I asked her if she'd:

1) heard anything...

2) does this mean that we've gotten a NOA2

She e-mailed me back and asked me, " exactly what was I referring too":angry:

When I read her response... I just thought, "WHAT the BLEEP BLEEEP BLEEEEEP" does she think I'm referring too :angry: Isn't this her job  ?? So I e-mailed her back and repeated what I sent before but in "simpler words" so she would understand, and I still haven't heard back from her :angry:

So here I am again asking if anyone has any insight for me :help::crying:

Sorry about the rant... But I needed to VENT!!

My How do I know if it's just been touched, or if it's now ready to be forwarded to NVC :

When you log on to the USCIS website, look at the date on your case (it changes when touched) - click on the case and read the details. In the case of touches usually the message is the same. When an approval happens on your case your date will change but the status message will be different also; on top of you receiving emails from USCIS (I received six). I hope that makes sense.

Congrats on the recent approvals

Hey CJ and fam :-) it has been cooooooolllld here. D finally broke down and got a nice winter coat. When he arrived last year it was still pretty warm but we're seeing this winter will be no joke
