Well hello.... just got back late last night....so here is the low down on everyting...

YES you WILL get interview seperatly!!! Mike was first then me....they asked him how we meet...if he loeves me and why? my birth date..where i live...where does my family live.. how many times i have been to JA... where we stayed those times..and then the basic if he has ever been in trouble with the law...if he has ever been to the states...and if he has EVER smoked weed... i think that was about it...

then she asked me how we met...how many times have i been to JA and if i have any pictures ect...

she looked through the pics and asked me like when was this taken and where...if you are going to bring any cards you really NEED the envelope it came in to show it came or went to JA...she really didn't care about the cards....any reciepts or ticket stubs anything....

then she called mike back and told us the bad but good news....i was very upset even though i knew we got it...it just pissed me off cause i had asked someone before they refussed thought they would get searched but the IRS and there is more to the story but i am not very happy with them...

so i called my sister...very upset she called me parents...and they said they would do it.....then i felt much better!!!!

be prepared to WAIT!!!! even though you might have a 7:15 appointment you might not get really interviewd much before 9....luckly kim told me that or i would have lost my mind....

if you do bring anything that you are not allowed in the building with you can check it with people who are walking around with plastic bags and they will give you a number to come back and get it!!

the hotel i stayed at was very nice...the food was actually good....

my flight how was GREAT!!! i somehow got upgraded to first class  (thanks miss kelly)..so i hade the champaign flowing...until i rememberd i had to drvie myself home :o:lol:

but all in all it was a good trip....a little snag...but it should soon be corrected...

hope this info helps the next group!!!

Sorry some of you have to wait till January...but trust me....1 MONTH is not bad AT ALL!!!!! count yourselves lucky it is only a month and not 4 months extra .

Help--medical forms? Does anyone know where i can get the medical forms on line? We were given a last minute appt for the interview Nov 7 because of a cancellation. Embassy is faxing him the appt letter, but says they can't fax the "form" he will need. Ideas?

Ann

he should go and pick it up...not sure if you can get it online..

Welcome back and congratulations.

Was your interviewer a young American girl?

She didn't ask me too many questions or for any other proof.

It is over for the most part. What hotel did you end up staying at?

WE ARE DONE!!!

What forms did you have to bring for the interview--I'm thinking of the DS 156, or 156K and 157 that they say have to be filled on on the computer.

Welcome back and congratulations.

I don't think I can go if it's just a week from today. I'm frantically looking up airfares, but there's nothing less than about $600, and in order to hve enough to pay for the visa itself, the medical,==oh hell--it would be next to impossible for me to be there. But maybe he should still take it.
He will need the "Interview Letter" at his medical. Did you make an appointment for that yet? If you can't get an appointment for the "medical" and be assured the results can be sent to the Embassy in time for the interview you won't get the Visa until the "medical" clears. And they will just probably "send you away" if he hasn't taken the medical yet. It's kind of a "Catch 22" thing here.....

The Doctors have the actual "medical" forms. In "Packet 4" you do get some sort of "medical questionnaire" that you bring with to the appointment but the actual forms come from the Doctor.

If he can get this appointment have him TRY to get a copy of the 693 (medical/vaccination form). This will help you a bit later on in the AOS process. It's not mandatory that you get this (we didn't) but I know it has helped people who did.

Welcome!!!

Unless they've changed something. The interviews will be togther. My husband's daughter was present during our interview. The interview just asked her what her name was. If my husband was her father and that was it.

Thank you for the welcome and information!! I love to read all the posts, there is so much information posted here! It's great! This whole process is very stressful.

I was wondering, did your husband have to get anything signed by his daughter's mother? It's hard for me to believe that they will give a child a Visa and let one parent take the child out of the country without the other parents approval, but what do I know.

We did not reach that far. She was denied her visa because my husbands name was not on her birth certificate. So we are still working that out. But yes, sense then I learned that we will have to have written notarized permission from the mother when the time comes. Can you believe the damn lawyer didn't even think to have something drawn up for the mother to sign. If it hadn't had been for the birth certificate it would have been the fact that we did not have written permission. :( David said that he called to speak to his daughter this morning and the mother asked to speak to him. She asked what she needs to do next to help her daughter ge the visa  I cannot believe it. She sent him papers to have him added to the birth certificate. I'm sure it's too late now. We will most likely have to get a blood test. I'm just wondering why she's so cooperative all of a sudden

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering the same thing b/c I am going to file for Javon's son but his mom lives in England. She left him when he was 7 months old. Would I still need something from her? Honestly, she is careless. She left JA years ago and never pick up a phone to call her own son and say hello. If they talk it's b/c Javon calls her not the other way around.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2
