That's what Roy explained to me last night. I told him it's Alka-Seltzer....he won't have anything to do with it.

He mixed up his concoction of Epsom Salt and Cream Soda  last night and let it set out all night. He came down just as I was leaving this morning and drank it all down (a glass the size of a beer mug)....made a face, burped and said he was going back to bed.

NEVER have I been so glad to be at work

Believe it or not.....we actually have some orange peels hanging from the kitchen window sill.....go figure....I will have him try that. Thank you!!

Yes, they do that in Guyana too - they grate dried orange peel into hot water.

JA has something called Bizzy tea - supposed to be like anti-venom cure-all for whatever ails you.

Epsom is real harsh, man. So tell him to soak his feet in it. LOL Its good to draw out toxins but a super laxative.

If you can get an aloe vera leaf (I think JAs call a version of it "single bible") and scrape out the gel and they boil it and drink that water. Its more gentle than epsom salts.

Here I am behind several pages again...but wanted to add...Lake says they drink senna tea mixed with a spoonful of Epsom salts there too. (He NEVER knew it was good for soaking out splinters!..ha) He said the kids always hated it, so now, they have something called senna tabs and a bilious wash tablet. He brought these with him, I have NO IDEA what bilious wash pills are. I asked him what they are EXACTLY, and he has NO idea. Next time I want the exact name of the things so I can look it up and see what in the world this stuff is, already!

We just found out we have raccoons in the attic......PLEASE tell me Roy isn't going to surprise me for dinner :lol:

Omigosh! This reminds me, we have a horrible possum problem this year, and they keep eating everything in Lake's garden. He killed a small one, I felt so bad it was just a baby, but he didnt know, he thought it was a big RAT!

Anyhow, he TELLS me, if he catches the momma, he is COOKIN HER UP!! Fine fixins in Guyana, Mawerry stew...blecht!

I brought so much stuff -- I had to put the HUGE "packet" down on the ground because it was so heavy and chock full of papers. I really did bring every piece of paper I have ever touched in my life  Roy just kept shaking his head....of course, I didn't need anything that I brought.

BUT -- there was this poor guy that was sitting next to us he was there without his fiancee -- he was sooooo unprepared for his interview. He didn't have any of the forms he needed. They kept sending him back to his seat -- he was sweating like I have never seen somebody sweat -- anyway, I was able to give him copies of all the forms that he needed and helped him fill them out. In the end, he didn't get the visa -- he got the blue slip that day -- not sure what ever happened to him.....

Haha! Reminds me, the other day he spent SOoooo much time cooking, I usually love the bitter melon he cooks. But...he mixed HOT DOGS with SHRIMP in it. I just didnt care for it at all, and he must have spent 4 hours in the kitchen. Yuk! He keeps asking me why I havent eaten it, so I finally told him last nite, I just dont like that kind of hot dog...Its true I dont, I thot the mixup was awful. I SHOULD be used to eating ANYTHING by now...

Mindy, I know your doing your best to get rid of those critters, but they can cause mites that are terribly hard to get rid of. I wondered if that wasnt what beset our family when we just had that silly old possum runnin round the yard and garage (she goes in there an poos)! I am personally ready to kill her myself, the latest she dug up the cement gutter looking for grubs or something, and had about a bucket full of dirt on the driveway, a hole UNDER the drive, the gutter turned over, etc. I am ready to call an exterminator and she isnt even IN the house! I told Lake ...power to him in killin her...I dont want anything to do with havin her in the cookin pot! :hehe:
