Good morning, all.

yummmm, Lake is making chicken curry. It smells soooo fine. We are all out of the curry he brought back from Guyana tho, man oh man that is a good brand. It is Indi special madras curry. We bot some other curry at the Indian store that just opened here, and its not near as good. :crying:

I looked online, and the price is not TOO bad, $8 for 15 ouches, but $10 to ship the darn thing. :crying:

Oh well, he IS goin back soon, but he is gonna be overweight again for sure...I miss when the airlines allowed ya 70 lbs instead of 50.

To all those on diets, I applaud you.

To all with good news, I congratulate you.

And welcome to all the newbies! :)

Rohan is in Kingston as we speak so if they don't give him the packet then we will just have to wait.

I will just have to pray they accept the DS-230 and give him his interview date right then and there.

In kingston there is a hotel named Knutsford Court Hotel. Has anyone ever stayed there before?

Good afternoon,

I have heard of it was planning on staying there but was told by a person from Jamaica that it was not teh best plus I read a couple of reviews from people who stayed there and they were all basically negative.

I do not wish to share any information about this dead end journey.........I have reached my final destination on this train, and it is time for me to get off.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"If marriage means you fell in love, does divorce mean you climbed out?"

"You never really know a man until you have divorced him."-Zsa Zsa Gabor

"When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife." Deuteronomy 24:1-2

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." - Helen Keller

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?" - Mary Manin Morrissey

Things are going well for us. The boys are doing so well and really adjusting to their baby sister...they want to do everything for her. I didn't realize how big they were until I got home with Makayla. Ricardo is doing well and has already been promoted at his job with the county. He even got his class B license and gives me a hard time about just having a class C :P

I am definately going to get some pics up by the end of the week so I will let you all know. I'm glad to see things rolling around here .

I know this is left corner, but I just realized that this holiday season will be our first together:

- as husband and wife

- living together in the US

For the past two years we spent Christmas, New Years and my birthday together in JA, but I always had to board the iron bird in the sky to return stateside. This year we can start our own Thanksgiving tradition (jerk fowl instead of roast turkey on Thanksgiving) and decorate our first tree together on Christmas (L):luv:

I can't wait!

Where do you rent your car? Have you done that before? Just looking for other's experience with car rental.

I've rented a car the last 2 times I went to JA. The first time was through Hertz and the second time through Thrifty. They were both VERY expensive :( And we had to put a $1000 hold on my credit card until the car is safely returned  I would love to find a cheaper place to get one from.

I did not have to worry because Duane does not smoke but I was freaked because folks smoke so much all around and I was afraid he would test positive just for second-hand smoke.......(I know...I am a paranoid freak!!!!)

Oh my gosh, girl you sound just like me  I just said something very similar to that before I read this post!

I normally rent if I am going to be there for more than a few days. I have a friend who has a couple vehicles and rent me for $30.00 US per day. The best rental company in one in Mo Bay that charges 160.00 per week for a Chevy Malibu. But then you pay about 12.00 a day for insurance cause credit card companies do not provide insurance for rentals in Jamaica, So renting from a private owner always works out best. I am pretty good on the roads in Jamaica. Similar to the roads I grew up with in my home country of Trinidad. Winding roads with no lanes and no lights except in Kingston.

Can you please give me the info. for these rental companies??? I've been spending way too much money on car rentals when I go down there :bonk: I spent $600 for a 10 day rental and then $300 for a 4 day rental :o

I would like that info as well.
