RNC Chairman Michael Steele, channeling his party's energized conservative wing, said the party will "come after" moderates who support President Obama's domestic policies.

"Candidates who live in moderate to slightly liberal districts have got to walk a little bit carefully here, because you do not want to put yourself in a position where you’re crossing that line on conservative principles, fiscal principles, because we’ll come after you,” Steele told ABC's Top Line in response to a question about Republicans who support the White House's stimulus and health care plans.

...

Steele didn't say what form retribution would take.

What real threat do they have?

"We'll come to your district and get Sarah Palin to endorse a far right candidate who will draw 6-8% of the vote and ensure a Democratic victory"

They seem willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.

Fiscal principles, Mr. Steele?. :rofl::rofl:

Starting with Reagan, the GOP's fiscal principle boils down to two words: borrow, spend.

Sure you want to run on that record?

Your anti-Republican bigotry knows no bounds, does it?

Yes.

GOP: borrow 1-5% of GDP

Obama: borrow 10-12% of GDP every year for the next 10 years

Go back to Reagan and start looking at actual debt accumulation under Reagan, Bush I, Clinton and Bush II and then come back here and talk to me about the fiscal principles of the GOP. We'll talk about Obama's performance on that end when the numbers are in.

liberals PWNED!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I would prefer to see the republicans put up conservatives. If you put up liberals, you're just choosing between two liberals. When a "Republican" quits and endorses the Democrat, you know that it was really just two Democrats running against each other in the first place.

Dept to GDP Ratio

Reagan Start: 35%

Reagan End: 52%

Bush I Start: 52%

Bush I End: 66%

Clinton Start: 66%

Clinton End: 58%

Bush II Start: 58%

Bush II End: 90% - excluding Obama's Stimulus package

The only administration in recent history that has reduced the borrowing to GDP ratio was that of President Clinton. The only administration in recent history that has left office with a reduced debt to GDP ratio was that of President Clinton. What a fiscal record for the GOP indeed.

Fiscally speaking, Obama is just being a good Republican. How's that for bi-partisanship?
