There's an obvious conflict of interest if the guy is an Arab and we're fighting Arabs.

They can send an Arab to North Korea, but don't send the guy to Afghanistan or Iraq, for crying out loud.

This isn't at Luby's but on post. Seems odd that there's more than one shooter. I saw report claiming the shooter was wearing a major's uniform but the whole story seems garbled from initial sketchy reports.

They mentioned the theater on the 1st CAV side of post but I used to live across from the other the one on the 4th ID side.

My last job where I traveled all around the USA, I went to Ft. Hood. I was at the processing center. I did the CAC/ID Systems there. Scary to think I could of been there today if I was to update the machine and how I would react to that. I know if I survived I would call my manager and demand to leave the next day. I am sure the base will still be closed

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, is already dead so I how exactly will he be punished under the law? The doctor needed more help than his patients.

Odd how few Muslims there are in uniform but they create an inordinate amount of fratricide.

Yeah, doctors and lawyers etc get in as captains and sometimes even higher, and as a psychiatrist, he definitely was an officer. He could be a recent addition too, so the sleeper theory isn't far fetched then.

Given the hateful attitudes of the likes of you, I can understand that Muslims aren't lining up for service in the US Armed Forces.

Federal law enforcement officials say Hasan had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats.

The officials say they are still trying to confirm that he was the author.

One of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates homicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades.

"To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause," said the Internet posting. "Scholars have paralled (sic) this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers."

Hasan was working with soldiers at Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Hood after being transfered in July from Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he had worked for six years before recently receiving a poor review.

Nader Hasan said his cousin, who was raised a Muslim, wanted to go into the military against his parent's wishes — but was taunted by others after the terror attacks of Sept. 11.

He now is believed to have been behind the worst mass shooting at a U.S. military base in history.
