I say why not, USCIS apparently needs more funds. I would have paid 3 times the fee. You could argue that its unfair for people who couldn't afford it but quite frankly the costs are already a barrier for some so whats the difference.

I voted for 6x the fee, but if they ever hypothetically did this, I think they should increase the fee to a point where only 5% (or some other small-ish percentage) or so are "expedited". Increase the fee until only that many pay for it. There would be little to no impact on the timelines of the regular people, and lots more funds for USCIS. I think the issue with expediting is that it can't be guaranteed unless everyone buys in - if background checks are necessary, whoever does those would have to rush them, etc etc. I don't think it's possible to coordinate on that scale.

I'd support, if possible, an option for paying a fee to ensure that your petition is handled within a certain time. Not an "ahead of everyone else" fee, but a "we'll have it done no later than this date" fee. I'd certainly have used that during my application.

If two applications/petitions are submitted at the same time and one has that guarantee and the other does not.... then that is effectively putting one ahead of the other.

What it means is that the two cases would be treated precisely the same, unless the guaranteed petition would be processed later than the guaranteed date as a result. Could the guaranteed petition be adjudicated before the unguaranteed petition? Of course. That's the privilege you'd pay for. Would the petition be put "in front of the stack" to be adjudicated before all other petitions, as the poll asks? No.

It truly must be with the help of divine intervention that after entering into this well-defined bureaucratic process, we were blessed with the expected outcome within the predefined timeline. Praise deities!

Good idea or no? I think they should have 3 different offices to handle visa applications: One for those that paid more for expedited processing, one for processing the straight-forward applications with little to no red-flags and one to handle the harder cases with tons of red flags.
