Hello everybody, what a WONDERFUL web, Thank you to everybody for sharing your experiences and advises.

Here is my history: I came with a J1 visa, I found the love of my live, I decided to stay for him, We got married, We applied for my AOS in July 2005. Our company transfered us from Florida to California so we arrived at Cali on 01/01/06 (New Year, New house, New Job,....New Life!). I mailed the AR-11 and called USCIS to inform them about my move but the girl didn't say anything about transfering the papers. Is this something that I need to request? If so, what should I do? is It going to take longer? oh, and on Jan 14 the post office forwarded the interview appointment letter from Florida address to California. Our interview is scheduled for Feb. 22.

I will really appreciate your help because, believe me, after the driving, the new house with the deposits and all you need to buy, the last thing we need is to pay $650 for a 24 hours trip.

Please help us guys

It does not look like you have a lot of time. Sorry, I'm not familiar with this particular situation. If you cannot get answers from 800-line, I would advise making an INFOPASS appointment in your local office, where you should be able to talk to a more knowledgeable person on how to proceed. Missing an interview is not a good idea, so you need to get this settled before 2/22.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

Yes, this is the true. My case was transferred to CA last 3 weeks and then 2 weeks later I got approved 3 days ago with no interview appointment. They said my greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready. I am really happy that I dont have to mess up with the paper prepared.

To avoid any misunderstanding, only AOS files transferred to the California Service Center have shown a trend of being approved without interview. A transfer to any district office in California is different from a transfer to the CSC. So, if OP's file is transferred to a D.O. in California, it could mean she will have to go for an interview.

Loquilla, if you still have time to do an INFOPASS and arrange for your file (and interview) to be transferred to the District Office, then do so.

I agree with eau_xplain. The approval without interview through CSC is when THEY want to send it to CSC, not when YOU need it transfered to somewhere in California because you're moving. Therefore I also think you will still have to attend an interview.
