Ok, for all those who might need this information in the future:

A PCC is a police clearance certificate. INDIA requires 2: one from your local district police stations and one from your RPO or the regional passport office that issued your passport.

It took 3 weeks for my local one, and one week for my passport PCC from Calcutta.

I would suggest getting started on these ASAP. For me, it was only enough to write a coverletter that I required it for US immigration purposes and my marriage certificate indicating my marital status. They didn't ask to see any other papers from USCIS/NVC.

I didnt do anything. When AVR said about RFE and they told me that I will need PPC at Embassy. I dont understand why its different for you. You should talk to them again. Since you already sent PPC, I am sure your case will be completed by Mon-Tues. I am sure we both will get Dec Interview. I am in India in Jan too but too hard for us to go to Jan Interview. I am hoping Dec.
