what if we do a land crossing?

I hold a Philippine passport. When I crossed back to the US after a 3-day visit to Canada, my passport was stamped but I did not receive I-94. Maybe it's case-to-case basis?

BTW, I crossed using the tunnel going to Windsor and came back on Ambassador Bridge.

when you're coming to immigrate they'll give you the I-94 at the border when you give them your brown envelope.

If you cross at an airport in Canada, you fill it out before going thru customs.

If you're already a legal resident of the US, you do not do another I-94.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

when you're coming to immigrate they'll give you the I-94 at the border when you give them your brown envelope.

But only if you immigrate on a non-immigrant visa!

If you come in on an immigrant visa, you can't get an I-94, nor is one needed. Only non-immigrants get them. Holders of K-3 or K-1 visas are non-immigrants for the purpose of this discussion, despite the fact that they may be coming to the US for the purpose of immigrating.

:) I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry at the fact that I was able to write that :(
