The Official Republican/Conservative Gloating Thread

As usual, the Liberals are having a really bad time absorbing news, and hence reality. As we all know, even before moving into this election night, Liberal Democrats are sore losers and of course, in denial as this is typical of their behavior.

It's intuitively obvious to most that Osama is a one termer and it's now just a matter of minimizing the damage to this country he'll do while still in the WH.

The Liberals/Democrats will, in character, and of course in that snooty condecending way, try to rationalize these losses by attempting to analyze the supposed malady that afflicts those porr uninformed ignorants- US, as in you and I!

So my fellow Republicans and Conservatives, rejoice and post here for we're not long for our recovery........

Louisiana justice who refused marriage license to interracial couple resigns.

Last month, Louisiana justice of the peace Keith Bardwell stirred controversy when he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple because he believes that such marriages don’t usually last very long. “I don’t do interracial marriages because I don’t want to put children in a situation they didn’t bring on themselves,” Bardwell said. Now, the Louisiana secretary of state’s office says that Bardwell has resigned:

A Louisiana justice of the peace who drew criticism for refusing to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple has resigned, the secretary of state’s office said Tuesday.

Keith Bardwell, a justice of the peace for Tangipahoa Parish’s 8th Ward, was widely criticized after he refused to grant a marriage license to Beth McKay and Terence McKay, an interracial couple who ultimately got a marriage license from another justice of the peace in the same parish.

The McKays hired an attorney and protested the justice’s actions.

Despite a national uproar and a call by Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal for him to lose his license, Bardwell, 56, said in October that he had no regrets. “It’s kind of hard to apologize for something that you really and truly feel down in your heart you haven’t done wrong,” he told CNN affiliate WAFB.

Civil rights organizations had called for Bardwell to resign while Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) had called for him to be dismissed. Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), on the other hand, would only go so far as to say that Bardwell “should follow the law as written.”

Steven, go somewhere else and sulk.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Would that Chuck Rangel, whose transgressions make this guy look like a saint, had the decency to resign, too.

Guess the American people just don't get that lucky.

Polls are still open in California, for Ellen Tauscher's old seat.

With the special election contest between Democrat Bill Owens and Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman in New York's 23rd district drawing so much attention, it's easy to overlook the fact that a second new member of Congress will be chosen Tuesday 3,000 miles away.

Voters in California's 10th district are picking a replacement for Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D), who resigned her post to take a position with the Obama State Department. The almost-certain winner: Democrat John Garamendi, the state's current lieutenant governor, who came out ahead of 13 other candidates in a September primary. Garamendi and the top Republican vote-getter in that contest, David Harmer, proceeded to Tuesday's runoff vote. Given the seat's strong Democratic tilt -- President Obama won the district with 65 percent of the vote in 2008 -- Garamendi is the prohibitive favorite to prevail.

Serious Biz Rebec, are you pretending this is not a proverbial "Hand writing on the wall" moment?

Next thing you know, Bush will be President again.

Oh, goody. I always liked Bush 41. Will he still be doing the annual parachute jump on his birthday, once he and Barbara are back in the White House?

Not really.

Seems to me whomever Virginia puts in the Governor's mansion usually directly contradicts the party that sits in the White House. At least that's the way it's been for 16 years or so.

And New Jersey has had a Republican as a Governor for 16 of the last 26 years.

I don't see any hand-writing on the wall.

You waiting for Michael Steele to scribble something out there for ya?
