November 2009 filers

Hi November filers, and Merry Christmas.

I have couple questions for you.

When creating/editing your timeline, did you use the date you physically received your NOA1 on your timeline or the notice date on the NOA1?

Of the group of November filers, how many have actually had their case touched?

(I used, physical receive date, and I haven't had any touches.)

This does not matter..What is important is the NOA-2.....Touches mean nothing except someone picked up your file and moved it to either another bin or just took a peek at it.. a Touch is nothing more than you picking up a magazine and reading it for 2 minutes and putting it down..

Thank you for your opinion. I realize none of this matters, but the end result. However; this still is a journey and I'm curious as to the experiences of my fellow travelers.

I noticed a change from 11/2 to 11/6 so I guess my case was touched, but I am similar to many other people, I am not getting to excited about a touch. I just want the end results as painless as possible. No RFE's or any major bumps in the process.

I think in todays computer age this process is much to long anyway. It seems to me we should get the tax departments to teach the other government agencies how to speed up the process, they sure know how to make things happen in a hurry when it comes to personal service. LOL

My fiancee got the NOA1 showing a received date of 5th November having sent the I-129F a week or so previously. I'm currently trying to stop my head spinning trying to work out the reems of stuff I now have to get to hand for the (frankly terrifying) future pack of info to send to the embassy/medicals/interview etc etc.

It's a lot to take in!

I had not yet discovered this section! so dumb of me.

I am joining all of you guys,we sent our petition on the 3rd of Nov and our NOA1 is dated the 6th.Hoping to see some action from the VSC in the coming days!

Nooooooooooooo what's happened to my estimated timeline?! Lol it's disappeared!!!

I know I saw that on my too, but if you check the status timeline link it looks like the VSC is close to the end of October on their dates, i filed Nov 3 NOA is Nov 6 so hopefully soon, as I have a long wait ahead of me as the montreal consulate is backed up beyond belief. I hope we get our news soon

On the Immigration Timelines (K1, K3, IR-1, CR-1 Visas, etc...) page, I've watched "Approximate Processing Dates

for Common Forms: I-129F for K-1 Visa" Go from "VSC: November 3, 2009" to "VSC: November 4, 2009" and now back to "VSC: November 1, 2009" #######?

Weirdness. I know there is a proposed fee rate increase for K-1 visa'. Seems it would be in best interest of immigration to delay all cases until rate increase goes into effect. Hope not.

I wouldn't think the new fees would apply to anyone who's already submitted their applications....

This is correct.. If they cashed your check and sent you an NOA-1 you are not paying more...

The price increase is to the MRV (Machine Readable Visa) fee i.e. the fee for actually creating your visa in your passport. This is what you pay when you send in Packet 3.

The way I understand it, if we haven't sent in P3 before the hike, we'll be paying it. Gutted.

I was hoping that it was all a myth after that hubbub about visa fee increases before Christmas died down...

Even so, I'll happily pay nearly double the current price if the VSC will just give me a freakin' NOA2 already! Sheesh! Come on, Vermont!
