hi guys.. im a web designer and programmer. my NOA1 is on NOV 4th.. i was thinking of developing a database driven site so we can all log in and update the days and easly keep track and be able to view it from a website.. i will design the site just wondering if anyone is interested in inputing the data from the spreedsheet and helping keep track of all the and input each petition number from a certain day.. i could design a control panel to easly imput and maintain the petetions so we can all view it and get a clear idea of what is currently beeing processed.. with the software i would design it would be really easy to see what USCIS is currently working on if we all worked and keep it updated and inputed the k1 visas.. let me know what u guys think... thanks.

Great idea! Happy to help with it, at least I feel like I'm doing something for the process :)

If you want to do all that work then go for it. However; the spreadsheets Naddy has on google are pretty good. If you know your way around excel maybe you could use your programming skills and have excel gather data from the other sheets and get statistics such as average wait time, most current case being processed, etc... I'm trying to figure that out myself. If you do make the website, I think it'd be great if it is done in a way where future VJs can utilize it. Go for it.

Quick question. While we are pulling our hair out waiting, how many of us are financially ready for the next round of steps?

Such as medicals, AOS fees, plane tickets, Embassy fees, etc...

I am but barely. A few more months of 400 dollar phone bills and I'm in trouble.

Lol...we are not the enemy.

We waited almost 4 months for our NOA2...and I would like to share some of the strategies that worked for us.

For months we watched the projected timelines slip away...and watched people get approved with filing dates prior to ours.

We became focused on what was going on with our petition, and everday we resented having to wait what seemd like an unfair amount of time.

We had two weeks together during Christmas..and we never dreamed back in Sept. that we would not have an NOA2 by Dec. The airport goodbye was very, very tough...because we had no idea what was going on with our petition or when we would see each other next.

We had completely twisted our own minds into knots of hopes and expectations based on the lightning quick approvals from Sept and October....but it was a situation we created for oursleves...hope junkies just getting a daily fix, with a heavy withdrawal pain. In reality if the USCIS website didn't exsist..or VJ..or anything that altered out expectations we would have just be finding ways to get by until 5 months rolled around..the offical processing time..and been happy to get it at five months.

We created our own misery, not USCIS, hell they have 5 months...and we were so angry because we didn't get ours in 32 days..lol

It made us sick...literally, and upset and a feeling of despair was common, mostly due to the complete lack of control we had over the situation.

Eventually we hit bottom...no NOA2 , no touch...nothing...just...nothing...and we made a choice to take a big break from VJ, and a big break from checking USCIS case status.

We choose instead to focus on those aspects of our lives which were in our control, making healthier food choices, building our immune systems with proper rest and nutrition...practicing accepting the situation....

It worked for us!.

The deep and serious fact of the matter is that NOA2 approval dates are completely out of our control...completely.

The lesson for us is to surrender to this reality and choose to take action where we had control, and could improve the quality of our life while waiting in whatever ways we could.

It really and truly sucked and was a lot of suffering , but we finally got approval, just as you will.

We realized that the waiting gave us an opportunity to grow together through a challenging time, and we must bring the type of support and skills to our marriage that we brought to our NOA2 waiting period.

After all that waiting...we got RFE...my divorce certitifcate did not say Absolute Decree....and we really had a bit of a big ole' miserable time waiting to see what the RFE was for and waiting for it to turn around...but we practiced acceptence , prayer, and staying positive... and got through it.

Seems like they are really screwing with Nov. petitions at VSC. It seems certain they have re-assigned staff who wrere assigned to work on 129f back in September. That sucks. You can be grateful that cal. and nebraska will be handling all the TPS visa!!

Sorry to hear you folks are getting the administrative shaft ...but there is great prayer that says:

"God Grant me the serenity to accept the things We cannot change ( VSC processing times) the courage to change the things We can ( our attitude and actions that will help us suffer less while waiting) and the wisdom to know he difference.

God bless and ..yes...stay positive...and yes...be strong..and yes...pray ( if so inclined) and avoid a 'victim' mentality that leads to futility, resentment, anger, fear, and depression!

Do as you will....but there are ways to lessen the misery :-). ..and yes..of course..it is always the people who have gotten NOA2 giving advice!

The problem with us November filers isn't that it is taking 3-5 months to have our petitions "touched". Our problem is that according to Igor's list approximately 6% of December has been approved and there has been 1% approved in November. There has been a 12/21 petition approved already. 29 weekdays. 24 workdays. I would be perfectly happy waiting 5 months, if those people who filed almost 2 months after me were not being approved. All us November filers really want is to told by USCIS of what is going on with the November petitions. Why have they skipped us and started to work on mid-to-late Dec?

USCIS likes to say that everyone is different. Some people have an easier situation, blah, blah, blah, blah... That is BS. I am a Federal Employee who has been investigated by OPM and adjudicated by NCIS and re-adjudicated by NCIS because I needed approval to continue seeing my fiancee. I have never been married. I have no kids. My fiancee has never been married and has no kids. Her sister has spent the last 4-5 years living in America. I have never been arrested, neither has my fiancee. She has a very good job as an accountant at a global company. I am 1 year older than her. We both have very unique names. neither of our names will cause a hit in the background checks.

Here is another note. USCIS will blame the FBI for taking too long on their background check. I found this today, "...by the end of June 2009, the FBI will complete 98 percent of USCIS name check requests within 30 days and process the remaining two percent within three months." So that means that at least 90% of November filers have had their background checks completed prior to the latest Dec approval submitted their petition.

I second T and J.

Totally!

The wait is not the problem, the helplessness on seeing the luckier lot who filed later getting approved is certainly!

I wish I could take their advice. I have many things I should be doing to improve my life. I have 5 chapters to read 4 assignments to complete all do by Monday. But I get about half way down the page and I realize I haven't comprehended one word, just cant focus with so many unanswered questions. The only thing, just one thing, that keeps me even remotely grounded is knowing there are still many October filers who are still waiting before me. I cant fully let my self lose control, knowing they have been hurting longer then me. Let us all hope that the careless person approving cases from December puts there hands on our case, and passes it through. Sorry October.

With Skype and Vonage it depends on the country. I can call to cell phones in Thailand without additional charges. Normally though i will use MSN because either she is at work or i am at work. On the weekends we will both be home and MSN has the better video quality.

I don,t understand why the Philippines is so expensive. Probably has to do with the RP's government and taxes and shtt. My girl lives out in a province and internet isn't reliable. When I met her she was working in Japan and we always used Yahoo with webcam for free. I miss those days. Oh well soon she'll be here and be crying she's home sick and I'll be missing these days. Lol. Just kidding.

I think I will have enough. I am not sure of all of the costs. Right now I have about $12k budgeted for everything, including the wedding. My fiancee says she will pay for the medical, embassy fee, and the plane ticket for her. We should be OK.
