Thanks for the info T, but the problem is, I'm not employed yet lol. I know I can drive it with my international driving license, but just for 3 month from my arrival to the US. It's just that I can't put it in my name until I get my US license ...

K1 Journey : Total length (from filing I-129F till Visa in hand) : 190 days (~6.3 month)

NOA1 issued : 11 - 09 - 2009 (6 days)

NOA2 issued : 02 - 26 - 2010 (109 days) (OMG!!!! was about time)

Interview date : 05 - 12 - 2010 (75 days) Approved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AoS / EAD Journey : Total length (from filing I-485 / I-765 till Green Card in hand) : 115 days (~3.8 month)

I-485 / I-765 sent : 06 - 21 - 2010

NOA1 for AoS & EAD : 07 - 02 - 2010 (11 days)

Biometrics walk-in : 08 -02 - 2010 (was scheduled for 08 - 20 - 2010) (31 days)

EAD card received : 09 - 06 - 2010 (17 days)

Green-Card received : 11 - 01 - 2010 (56 days)

Just bought my car yesterday :dance:, a Ford Explorer, big enough for the Doggies and to go up to NH for the August wedding, but it's in my hubby's name now (he loves it, and takes it to work now instead of his car :angry:, na it's fine with me, I'll make him pay me for driving it lol :devil:, jk jk ;)) cos I don't have my US driving license yet, stupid DMV, I'm still looking for a french translator ...

Awww, nice. Congrats on the new car :).

As for us, EAD card production ordered today! Weeee!

You can register it in your name without a South Carolina drivers license. I looked at the form to register a vehicle in SC and the form says, "If

the primary owner has not obtained a South Carolina customer number or driver’s license number, enter the primary owner’s

social security number." Basically if someone moves to America alone, they need to purchase a car to use to take the drivers test to get their drivers license.

guys can i work before we get married?while we fix the marriage?

Ideally you should NOT work unless you get the required work authorization.Did you get a EAD stamp on your passport at your POE? I know that is not very common but if you did then you could work till you guys get married,and file for AOS.

But do not since it is not legal for a K-1 visa holder.
