LOL I know that feeling...all I know is that to convert UK sizes to US you subtract 4...so a UK 10 is a US 6 and so on...and my understanding of farenheit goes like this:

Temp in deg F: Description

0 : Basically dead unless you're a husky

10: Practically dead

20: 10 layers and a convection heater

30: Baltic

40: Chilly

50: Jeans and jumper

60: Jeans and t-shirt

70: British summer

80: Hot

90: Roasting

100: Jump in a vat of ice cubes

It's crude but effective

There's something I'm kinda getting used too, when they say hello here, they are like "Hey, how you doin?" "Fine thank you", and chat about the weather and stuff , like, everywhere, to everyone, even if you don't know them (like restaurants, shops). We don't have that in France >.<, they barely say hello over there lol. I'm still shy, but I'm getting used to that, barely

Depends on the dry vs. humid heat, I reckon. In Miami, 85 F is "walking through soup, wishing for death after one block" whereas in the southwest, 85 F is "wow, what a lovely day!"

agree... what I didn't know before I moved here is that Washington is almost as humid in the summer as FL. Have to find a good beach this wknd.

Yeah I'm basing mine on Orlando in August - damn....

Hong Kong's pretty interesting too. I went to see my cousin there last June - cooler than Orlando but 10 million % humidity - I went for a run for half an hour and came back looking like I'd actually gone for a swim in the harbour...nice

Approved and VISA in hand!!!!! We got it in the mail on Thursday. Joseph will arrive in Orlando tomorrow!! We were hoping his POE could be Dublin Airport but not sure if they are there during the weekends but anyway.....he will be here tomorrow. All that waiting, worrying, and speculating is over for now. I know we still have the AOS etc to do but right now I just want to bask in the realization we will finally be together! Thanks everyone for the information and for the support. This forum is a true gem for those seeking VISAs........

Congrats! What lovely news, and what an exciting time. I command you not to worry about the AoS for a little while. Simply enjoy being together, and bask in the realization, also, that you NEVER have to go through the excruciating K1 process again! Enjoy, and tell us all about the wedding

agree... what I didn't know before I moved here is that Washington is almost as humid in the summer as FL. Have to find a good beach this wknd.

It has been extremely hot here. Possibly the hottest June ever since they started keeping records, but most of the time I have to live without AC. Jum turns purple when I have the AC on. The only nice beaches around here are in Maryland, New Jersey, and Long Island, NY. All are between 3-6 hours away.

It has been crazy hot here in DC lately, I think it's meant to be 96 today. David is arriving this afternoon (yay!) and hopefully this heat doesn't scare him away!
