Thank you everyone ! :)

Naddy, my interview was super smooth. The CO asked for the forms ( DS 230, DS 156, DS 156 K ) and some very basic questions about our relationship ( mostly our plans for the wedding and future ). He didn' t ask for any kind of evidence nor for the I - 134 support documentation ( no tax returns, no pay stubs ). I' ll be picking up my visa on Thursday April 29 together with that whole giant envelope DO NOT OPEN. :)

Great! Congrats, dear! Give yourself a pat on the back.

So when do you intend on leaving lyoo-bya-na ?

When are you planning on coming to the US?

 Lyoo - bya - na ! Actually, I have some doubts and wanted to ask for an advice. I' ll be picking up my visa on Thursday April 29. Should I wait to have my visa in my passport first or book the flight early this week ( before Thursday ) ? My plan was to leave May 3.

Megan, you must be in 7 th heaven in these days. Good luck for AOS and your life together. (F)

If you are picking it up at the consulate and not waiting on them to send it by mail, then yeah, you could book a flight i guess :hehe:

Megan, you said that Ewan had the most luggage at the airport lol. Did he pay for extra luggage, or when he booked the flight, he asked for extra weight cos it's a "one way" flight?

I'm gonna try to negotiate that with the plane company, once i go to Paris for the interview

My question to the lovely ladies on here, does anyone know of any 'cheaper' places to shop online for a wedding dress?

I know Megan got her's off that cool site, which I am going to get back on later (when I have the doh) but anyone else have any ideas?Apart from the regular David's Bridal and all?

Would appreciate some suggestions and what is everyone else doing?

I found a beautiful white fancy wedding dress in France that I wanted to buy, but I gained weight cos of stress and the waiting :( , so I guess I'll wait at least to get back in shape before searching for another dress for the big wedding

Otherwise, for the first small wedding, I have a black soirée dress (stretchable lol) with big red flowers that i never wore, so I guess I'll wear that if I don't find anything better, tho black on a wedding is not really great, but it's just the "getting married to file a quick AOS so I could start searching for a job" wedding, so I guess it'll be ok. I'll go shopping when I'll be in Paris, so I'll see if I'll find better :)

But it depends if you want a traditional wedding dress, or a "new age" wedding dress lol

omg I just love this one, and it's cheap. I'd get it in dark navy color tho. I'll see ...

Hey darlings!

Yep, I'm definitely in seventh heaven! We've been lounging around and just enjoying each others' company. Went to go buy Ewan some new clothes today, and started looking for his wedding ring!

Nadine, that dress is so pretty! I love the shape of it!

He had to pay an extra 27 dollars or something for his luggage because it was over size (27 kgs!), but only once, luckily, even though he flew with 3 different companies.

AR & MD, I bet you're safe buying the ticket now, too. Oooh! So soon!

I'm happy for everyone who has passed their interviews and for those who have had their interviews scheduled. However, I am soooo jealous of those who have moved already. I am still waiting until May 20 to go to Thailand. This has been the longest month in my life so far, and I have 3 more weeks to go.

I have been working on a few things. I was able to get Jum a credit card and I bought her some clothes.

Megan, soooo happy for you. We want pictures of the wedding

As for the dress, Drue loves it too. Just need to loose those extra few pounds I gained during the stressful waiting, so I could look pretty in that dress lol.

As for my stuff, I'm really finding it hard to get rid of some of them :( . It's my life, don't wanna get rid of it :( . So I guess I'll just bring everything with me, no matter how much it'll cost, even if it's worth less than the shipping fees :( . I'm so nostalgic :(

I wish my hubby would go out and buy me some clothes, he hates shopping :bonk: . I'm a shopaholic, will have to convert the poor guy lol

Happy Sunday troops!

The USA welcomes Ewan!

KisK - thanks for the post about you dog who was none the worse for the flight. Reassuring for me.

Naddy, that dress is totally gorgeous, and as we've all got some kind of mental picture of what we all think each other looks like, I've always had the sense that you look like Audrey Hepburn, therefore that dress is perfect.

How funny about the eating and putting on weight (apart from our Miss Jess!). The stress of waiting turned me into a massive comfort eater for the first time in my life and I too have put on weight, so much so that I've even gone up a bra size. That's another thing to blame immigration for - it's ruined my figure for my potential ladyboy career!

So much to do now, but too fat to get off my couch to do it! laughing, not really, but I now have a "to do" list which covers 3 pages of A4 paper.

Buying clothes for a female - unsupervised? Mr T - you are one hell of a brave man. It is a road most men fear to tread. The risks involved are immense, and include getting an earbashing for:-

a) getting the size too big "so, you think I'm fat?"

b) getting the size too small "are you trying to tell me I need to lose weight?"

c) buying an expensive item "you could have got that half price in the sale, that's a total waste of money"

d) buying a bargain "is that all I'm worth, a cheap, nasty sale item?"

e) getting the style wrong "do you want me to dress like your mother/prostitute?"

The item is then kept in a bag at the back of wardrobe only to be brought out when wife's female friends visit where they cackle like witches and there are screams of "OMG! - he bought you that?" "what was he thinking?" "he can never be trusted again".

Hope none of the above happens on this occasion!

LOL, that's why I stick to the no-clothes rule with Milagros.. I'll buy her a bag on my own, but for clothes, it isn't worth it.. One time she spent an hour trying to pick out a $20 pair of flip flops.. She had the salesmen pull down every size 5 (and 6) from an entire rack.. I just sat there watching in amazement..
