I'm starting to get irrationally nervous about Ewan's interview... I know in my rational brain that it's going to be fine and easy, but my female brain is all worried and going crazy. It's causing me to do things like lock my keys in the lab and burn my dinner. This nonsense needs to be over with so I can be sane again!

Good luck on the medical, arwilson. Good thing they aren't denying visas based on skinniness! ;)

I totally hear ya woman. It's like the woman side of the brain is functioned to concoct all sorts of things going wrong.

But time to shut off those womanly instincts and bad rumbles in the tummy  .Time to think like a man :P

So a little update from me.I am done with my medicals. The staff was great.I did end up taking 3 more vaccines, but well well!

And John's package still has not reached, and we are thinking it is sucked into some unreachable black hole,so he is going to resend his stuff again.

You gotta love the little hiccups all along. But eeh,it will be fine!

What's up with everyone else?

It's not your female brain that is the problem. I had the same problem, it is the brain of the sponsor. The hardest part is waiting on the day of the interview. Did you try cleaning? That seemed to help me pass the time. There wasn't a piece of furniture that wasn't moved. That and also Bejeweled Blitz.

Well I just bought Jum's wedding ring. My day is slowly getting closer. 40 more days alone and then I will be with Jum for the rest of our lives. Unfortunately the wedding itself got postponed 1 month until July so that her sister could be here for it.

You'll probably get both the packages on the same day

That's for the pep talk, dear! You're amazing!

My little update:

Ewan's got all of his stuff together and is flying up to Auckland tomorrow for his interview (which is at 4:30 pm on Tuesday EST [8:30 am on Wed NZT]). Yeep!

Well My Journey family,

My fiance interview is for May 7, 2010 he is going to try and schedule an interview on Monday when the doctors office open.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Great! That's coming up quickly! Good luck.

I definitely need to clean. Without a Ewan to keep happy, I've definitely let the place get a little bit squalid. Oops! I also have to get ready to cook all of his favorite meals for my poor jet-lagged darling.

40 days! Not bad! Hope they go quickly! Sorry that you had to push back the wedding, but how wonderful that Jum's sister will be able to make it! 40 days! Star

I never got anything from my fiance's consulate... Maybe check with people in the appropriate forum to see if Juarez does this regularly.

Well where do I start?

My fiance had her interview today in Bogota Colombia for a K1 Visa. She has gone over the questions they ask her with me on the telephone.

The interviewer ask a small amount of questions about our relationship maybe 5 or 6, never once asking to see any new evidence of our relationship. Keep in mind the original packet I sent with the I29f was almost too good. I had included everything except the 134 form.

They did ask and keep all my letters from my employer and my bank.

My fiance has a 5 year old boy, we decided it would be good for her to have him in the interview also. Our thoughts were focused on evidence of our relationship. We thought the interviewer would question my relationship with her son and his feelings for me.

WOW was we wrong.

I have no clue why, after these few questions the interviewer ask for the child to leave the room. Then questioned her about her relationship with her son, she has all the proper papers for him required by our government original birth certificates etc. Then the women interviewer says she wants more evidence my fiance is the boys mother,

The interviewer wants photos of the boy while growing up with his mother in the photos. The interviewer never once wanted to see the photobook my fiance prepared or any supporting evidence of our relationship together not included in my original package.

And finally after lots of questions about the boy she writes down 3 things to bring back to the embassy.

Supporting family photos to prove she is his mother.

Another up to date copy of his birth certificate, (she had the original)

And the interviewer says and oh by the way as she writes down what she wants my fiance to bring back, You can also bring your fiance to the next interview. She never said bring any additional papers or why, just have him come with you.

I have so many mixed emotions of what I want to say to these people. The oh by the way attitude, like its no big deal to just jump on a plane, lost hours and pay from work for both of us and not to mention the $1000.00 plane ticket just for me, hotel, etc.

I can understand if my paperwork was lacking or I did not have evidence of our relationship.

I have said all this to ask if you good people, do you have any suggestions on how I should handle this? Should I telephone the embassy for additional information they may need or ????

Thanks so much

wow that is ridiculous really! He seems to have forgotten that the visa interview was for the fiance and her son to move legally to the US and to try to investigate that everything was fine on THAT front.

He just veered off on a different tangent here !

Why is he more interested in knowing something that someone would really not have a reason to lie about?

What is a very 'casual' thing to them,is indeed a very difficult decision. One cannot just board a flight and be there for the interview as per the CO's whims and fancies.

Ridiculous!

We feel for you.I really have no suggestion, but I hope someone more experienced will help you,may be you could also post it on the general forum or your regional forum.

Good Luck!

What's "Imminent Examination.."? Is that the interview date that comes in a Packet 4. We are still waiting for our P4 from the Cairo consular but it appears like their pace is far too slow, which is totally the opposite from the way they drive cars :no: ... Yep, that's Cairo for ya!!!!

You're not the only one still waiting; don't worry. There are plenty other November folks who seem to have useless consulates that are averse to sending out P4's, for some reason.

Seriously, get the heck on top of your game, US Consulates! I hope you guys all hear something soon!

Mrs Megger! All fingers and paws are crossed in my kennel tonight for Ewan's interview!

H&A - Cairo can join the club with London and Paris for being at the bottom of the class. We're all still waiting and in some London cases, it's over 5 weeks and still cases not even logged according to NVC.

I read on another thread entitled "Bangkok embassy faster than a bullet train" this: P3 sent back and tracked online embassy received at 9am. At 10.30am the same morning, the embassy called the beneficiary asking them if they would like to attend an interview 2 days later! Imagine that!
