I am sitting in the historic city of Budapest on the terrace of my favorite coffee place (right across the square from the US embassy), enjoying the beautiful spring weather and writing to y'all:

I GOT APPROVED! VISA IN HAND TOMORROW!!!!!!!

The interview itself was short, but lots of question mainly about my fiance. Where was he born, what does his father do, where has he lived, what were his jobs, where did we meet, where is the wedding, etc. She also asked me where one of the pictures we included in the original packet was taken (I guess to test me, as it was printed on the back.) So nothing hard, nobody has anything to worry about.

Can't stop smiling, people around me think I'm crazy :)

So come on everybody we'll all be over this is no time! Thanks for the support again, to quote Mrs. Dog, I don't know how people go through this process without VJ...

 The best news KisK! Your news has got us all smiling now. And, 10 out of 10 to Ukraine embassy for total efficiency! Let us know when you're going. Kiss goodbye to your favourite coffee place x

Hi Everyone who has already posted back packet 3 to their consulates,I had a question.SO my consulate asked me to go ahead download the forms and scan and send them the paper-work,so I can now NOT wait for that damned packet from the dear old snail friend.

I had a question about the checklist which we need to send back right away.

Do we check against all those forms, which we we will only taking to the interview stage also?Or just against those that make sense at this point?Like do I need to check against 'Medical report'?Even though I do not have it now,I will eventually get it fixed before the interview ,so what should I do now?

And towards the end of the checklist,it says enclosed are the following:

DS-230 part-1

Photo Instructions

Affidavit of Support-I-134

But I thought I needed to only send them back the DS-2001 and the checklist right away?Am I wrong?

Also, I do sign the DS-2001 right?Or do I do it on the day of the interview?

Please help me guys!

Thanks

On the VJ page for the consulate in Mumbai, it says the checklist, DS-2001, and DS-230 pt. 1 are sent back right away. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=India&cty=Mumbai

That might be dated info, though, I don't know....

It's crazy how different things are at different consulates; Ewan had to send all the DS-156/K forms with his packet 3, as well. And the DS-2001 is new to me. Unfortunately it won't load for me, so I dunno about signing it. Maybe pop in and ask the regional forum folks what they did?

Hi Megs,

Yes I did actually end up posting my questions in a lot of forums in a absolute frenzy and rush to get them answered.:P

but yes,I called the Mumbai consulate and asked them if I could send them these forms without waiting on for the packet 3 and the lady said yes.

So they are off tom.:)

And then let's see what happens from there.

On the flip side though,John's father who is our co-sponsor has gotten most of his papers together, but has not yet sent them to me.I hope he does it this week positively.I do not want our interview date to be stalled for this.

Well I am impatient if you could not already make out.

And wow,I checked out that place for your honeymoon, absolutely a great idea.Man I love the beaches, the beach side towns so much.

I will have to talk John into one of those ideas, but I would love to go again to the Outer Banks, have you heard of it?

That really is awful. Feeling for you both, mate. No stuttering to any halt! A solution must be found. Don't give up.

Thanks, no intention of giving up having come this far so I'll still be going to "that there" London for an interview before the NOA2 expires in June, the I134 will just have to have whatever it has on it. If it's not enough then we'll just have to try again when our circumstances improve!

Thanks guys!!! Actually just bought plane ticket and I will be on US soil on April 1 :) :) Countdown begins !!!!!!

Also got my international drivers license today, just saying as a reminder to some of you who might also need it. I was also advised to get a new copy of my birth certificate that I will need for the marriage license - the one I showed the embassy was from the time I was born, so didn't have an English section like my shiny new one. Now all I have to do is get my puppy his final documents and we are good to go... never thought this day would come.

Arwilson80 - yes, the unfortunate monument commemorating Russian soldiers is right between the coffee place and the embassy :)

Mrs. Dog - just for their good record, it's the Hungarian embassy that did such a great fast job! Thanks all of you for cheering with me!!! xxx

Hungary, of course, never to be confused with Ukraine. Dumb dog moment.

Big thanks for bringing to mind the international drivers license. That was one thing I had not thought of, was not on my ever increasing to do list, and something which is crucial for me.

You are entering the USA on April fools day! How funny, cos this process is certainly no joke.
